Open is finally dead.

Open has finally died. After countless horrific developer changes and numerous complaints, the once glorious mode has been over taken by legends. Gonk has been on legends more, only legends based servers gain traction, and worst of all; the game population is lowering.

Open? I know an old tale about Open. An old legend.
We don't really talk about it anymore. We fought in it, in the old wars. Now it's just a memory.

After the fall of Open, Legends took the throne together with FA. Its rise to power was magnificent.

Open died because of the mistakes of the enemy. For private reasons, I won't tell their names, but I think you know these people!
I'm sorry to inform you, but you let it die, right in front of you. You had the power in your hands to make it the most powerful mode, but instead, you let it die. I hope the enemy learned their lesson and fixes their mistakes.
Because of this, legends had his way to rise to power!

We played our last battle on Open now!
But when I was on the last battleground of Open, I felt something. The Muis Effect!

It was the Muis Effect all along!

Spoken facts.

Viserys had gave us such a nice playground, secured and lawful but some limited boyos only looked at their own nose and never ahead in the future. It didnt killed it, but changed for ever. Internet and the new gen / wider audiance, contributed but the change in culture (if can call it that) was already done. It's in the end, the playerbase decisions as a whole. Either from inaction, either for quick fun.

there ain't no way open is dead, i can fill one just by joining in the morning, and watch as people fill the server. At least that was like that 1-2 months ago, what happened lol

I liked most of the new features, but I really miss the classic EE-3 weapon, which is why I’ve been playing Open Mode less.

Maybe Disney’s management of Star Wars has kept fans away, reducing overall interest?? I don't know, but for sure the constant nerfs in Open Mode in general have also drained the fun, reducing the movement and leaving only Legends as an alternative.

If the goal was balance, it’s ironic since Legends is far less balanced... What's next, trying to "balance" Legends until it's as dull as Open?

Most of the movement stuff that got "nerfed" were physics bugs, things that players didn't notice or even know about for years, loved the game regardless. However, there are a lot of stuff just sitting on the backburner not getting finished, like an actual open mode class getting a form of grapple/ "ascension guns", a new rebel class with a jetpack, and even a new rebel class with a mount that rivals dekas traveral speeds, better rally/assembly spawning. Plus additional acrobatic and melee abilities that we want to add.

None of it is going to get finished in any reasonable amount of time though with the current teams ADHD problem that only tackles flavor of the week issues, and doesn't have any long term goals other than ones I gave them over 10 years ago that they're trying to work on now (like Conquest).

just yesterday played on open without any problems. so much whinners this days. everyone crying about "deEVS KILLED DA GAAAYME", but no one actually can explain how exactly they did it. old players now just cant rekt everyone like in old times, cause mechanics changed and they are too lazy to learn new mechanics. then, they get couple of kills by noob, become salty, and start crying in chat. imagine that, honored veteran crying in chat about DEVS!!!! shame
