Hey Guys!!

So all of the guides and stuff has helped alot! but now i cant join a server like this guy.
[SOLVED] - Crashing when joining server | Movie Battles II Community

unlike him however, i have not been able to join any server period.

i am using JKJA launcher provided on the wiki. I think it has something to do with the game trying to launch??

Technical Issue - Another mac install problem | Movie Battles II Community

this ^ i looked at the log in game and it says some stuff about missing files?

Any help would be much appreciated. I cant wait to get bback into the game!

Thanks everyone!

So how exactly does it crash? Crash to desktop, or you have just some error message in game after trying to connect?
If you have any error messages, do not retell them, provide direct citations or post screenshots.
Where (what is exact path) did you put MBII files, where did you place launcher?
Were you able to playing earlier, or you have these crashes since day one?

Have you tried resetting mb2 settings?
Do you use JKJA launcher to start game, did you set
Code:
+set fs_game mbii
in "Command Line Options" of the launcher?

Have you tried (in the Launcher) rewriting the path's ending to "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.app" (or to SWJKJA.app) instead of the default "Jedi Academy MP.app", then launched mbii through the JKJA launcher?

can you elaborate? "paths ending" do you mean the top line when you press shift and open the program?

thanks
Yes
Try changing a path in JKJA launcher to some other (starting launcher while holding shift), that helped user in thread by a link in your message.

Could you post a screenshot of a folder where you've placed launcher?
I've got a feeling you need to find a file "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.app", but I don't know where exactly it could be found.
Maybe this will help:
==========
Open Steam Folder.
> Right click on game Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
> Properties
> Local Files
> Browse Local Files

You will find the folder " Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy "
> Right click
> Show package contents

You will see folder
" Contents " and " installscript_osx.vdf "
> click and open Contents
==========

Where did you place MBII folder? It should be in ~/Library/Application Support/Jedi Academy

Do you have EAX disabled in a Sound options?

I didn't get it. What exactly you can't open? Have you found "installscript_osx.vdf"? Have you found "Contests"? What is in "Contests"?

And where is a screenshot I was asking for?
Also I'd like to see screenshot of "Contests", too.

There is not "installscript_osx.vdf" on your screenshot.
Open package contests, you'll see something like this:
https://community.moviebattles.org/attachments/screen-shot-2016-01-07-at-12-27-11-png.389/

Place Launcher there, just like on the picture.
Run Launcher while holding Shift, key, rewrite path in "Locate Jedi Academy" edit box as I mentioned before.
Run Launcher.

Oh if it is the same issue that I fixed in jamme for mac recently on map loading crash (according to the log) then you should probably try one of latest openjk - it has got the fix too.

You can download openjk from here:
index · powered by h5ai 0.26.1 (http://larsjung.de/h5ai/)
Though I don't know how to use it on mac.

On your screenshot OK button is enabled. If you launch MBII now, does it still crash?

If OK button is getting disabled when you're adding "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.app" to the path, then click "Choose" and select "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.app" from "Jedi Academy" folder.

Damn.
Lets try something else:
Start MBII => Setup => Defaults => Yes.
Unload MBII, launch it again, connect to a server. Still crashes?

Download MBII Launcher:
http://update.moviebattles.org/launcher/MBIILauncher.exe
Place it into "~/Library/Application Support/Jedi Academy".
Download and install mono:
Download | Mono
Start Launcher by typing in terminal:
Code:
cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Jedi\ Academy; mono ./MBIILauncher.exe
Settings => check "Enable logging" => Repair installation, post latest log from "MBII_Launcher\logs" here.

Or just redownload and reinstall Movie Battles, maybe your files are corrupted.

There was a user who had exact same problem, he solved it by reinstalling mb2:
[SOLVED] - Guide to install MB II on MAC / Macintosh | Page 4 | Movie Battles II Community

They both should work with mono.

Even though I didn't mention that, mono/.Net launcher isn't supposed to launch game on mac; it can only repair installation.
You still should use JKJA launcher to start mb2, hopefully it will work now, with correct mb2 files.

There is also another thing to try: move JKJA launcher from Steam subfolder to "~/Library/Application Support/Jedi Academy", maybe it will from there.

And what about restore defaults? Have you tried it?
