ARC suggestion

With the Dex 3 change allowing them to shoot from the floor ARCs feel a lot less fun than they used to. To spice things up is it possible to add in melee abilities like the jump kick while having weapons out? This will be awkward where buttons are concerned so is it worth adding a third class special button?

For ARC the pulse grenade cost is unbelievable, compared to clones blob it is just unfair
Advantages of ion blob:
- you get 2 of them for every point and they recharge through lives(they're only 5 points)
- they can be used with your gun or while firing
- small punishment for missing(you just have a small 5 second cooldown)
- if used right it can help kill any droid classes(deka/sbd)
Advantages of pulse grenades:
- they can be thrown at max velocity with right click
- they can get enemies behind corners
as you can see here, the pulse grenade is horribly outweighed by the advantages of ion blob
now what makes this even worse is that clones have two lives, arcs dont so they dont get pulse nade refills and why would you waste 10 points for a useless grenade when you could have a rocket launcher for the same amount that can potentially instant-kill any class

Touching point costs would indeed be interesting for ARCs. That's a thought I've often toyed with.

Dropping Pulses to 5-5-5 could be one direction. However, pulses are definitely valuable in the right hands, so freeing up to 15 points could be too much. The other choice is to reduce point costs for the Dual Pistols and M5 attachments to give room for even just slightly more options. In the same style Dexterity could be changed to 4-8-12 or something along these lines to increase more variety.

ARC abilities themselves seem really awesome, the point distribution is the biggest issue.

What about 5-10-10 with 1 pulse for 5 and 2 for 10? It wouldn't be as detrimental for ARCs to grab one if a Deka is about but if there's some serious robot action going on you could go EMP ham.

Combine that with the M5 grenade launcher... oh jesus that would be silly.

The grenades are like 10 a piece right?
Cut them down to 8.

That frees up 6 points.
Then shave 1 point off each dex, that frees up another 3 points.
So 9 points.

What the hell can a ARC use with 9 points?
No idea.

possible ingame to have both attachments swapped by weapon mode?

although i feel like sniper westar is hard to play because of the low ammo capacity, maybe needs a buff similar to ee3 limited to 2 snipes but with reduced cost

Would be great if instead of getting an extra pulse with level 2 M5 grenade launcher you could detonate them in midair.
What if the m5 grenade launcher used pulse grenades only(instead of having its own seperate nades from each point) and they could be detonated at any time, so 5-5-5 + the level 2 grenade launcher would cost 35 points in total for a grenade launcher with max ammo

What about a perk system? If you combine Dexterity 3 and Stamina 3 you get bonuses like reduces stamina drain or additional moves like a second wall jump or being able to dive off a wall jump.

Fuggin bump.
expand the topic to straight up "buff arc" and you can get more posts 8)

arc is, imo, the worst class in the game atm. old pistol knockback + old auto roll meant arc was quite strong and a powerful class for high skill players (HiC, darc, etc)

now you're just a really slow snipe magnet that has to spend a million points crippling your build to bring team utility with emps that clones do better with ion blobs

arc needs a point cost rework, possible base movement speed buff, the roll bug fix already mentioned, sniper ammo looked at/m5 total ammo looked at, dexterity looked at

instead of the current knockdown with fast getups that you can shoot during, you did a probably sub 1-second quickroll

it was nearly impossible to abuse a dex 3 arc with force or sec nades as it was a seriously tiny roll that was over very quickly

the roll was shorter than the duration of time an arc spends knocked down prior to being able to shoot during their getup currently, and forced less movement, so an arc basically had to already be in an actual corner for it to be worth pushing them. pull had slightly more success

That doesn't sound so bad if you remove the push pistols from the equation.

I would still like to see them given some kind of tool or ability that allows them to navigate over tall terrain and boxes.
So they can get into a position on the map that better suits their sniping potential.

Wall jumps. Can do a single wall jump for additional height.

No I meant like a jedi wall jump where he hangs and can jump off it to a higher spot. Or potentially use arc dive off the wall for an epic getaway.

It was hardly impossible, it was very easy to do, especially with pull.

You can definitely start shooting during the getups before the autoroll would have been over. Either way, autoroll typically "forced" movement in whichever direction you were running when you got pushed/pulled (unless you have superhuman reflexes and could predict the push/pull before it happened) while the new getups don't force movement.

I'm all for buffing ARC, but ARCs new control over getups and being able to shoot during them is vastly more helpful than autoroll ever was. I wouldn't mind seeing autorolls come back if you could shoot during them, but without the ability to shoot they'd just be a nerf as they could be abused with push/pull to make the ARC a free kill.
