Supported versions:

7zDcya6.gif

Application uses HttpClient to access moddb & mediafire links in order to dowload archived versions of MBII
These are by default dowloaded into your GameData folder, then extracted into their folder and the .zip file is removed.
On launch, a .bat file gets created that takes care of renaming folders in order to launch the game under game path "MBII".
After exiting the game, folder will be renamed back and your MBII folder will again become what it was before (R20)
Your documents folder will contain a folder called "MBII Version Switcher" where your gamedata path and serverlist from last launch of the application will be stored.
VirusTotal
for existing installations, so that you don't have to reinstall, please move the content of the MBII folder of your version to a new folder called exactly like one of these:
MBII1.4.8.1
MBII1.6.2
MBII1.10.1
MBII1.10.0.1
MBII1.9.3.1
MBII1.9.2.2

Few improvements (ty roguewookie)

26/11/2024
added a playerlist panel rather than displaying it below the serverlist. this will hopefully solve any future issues were the serverlist growing.
added direct connect to the servers through the panel.

rdTvI0o.png

fixed dropping .zip files as an alternative for version installation
25/11/2024
added "drop .zip" button to main menu, as an alternative for those experiencing 403. You will be automatically redirected to such menu if you won't be successful with your automatic download. Drop .zip expects a .zip with the same name as the archived .zips from moddb or files from mediafire that I've uploaded. If you fail a download, you will be redirected to the appropriate browser tab.
It will automatically rename and extract the content, assuring everything will still work no matter what.
Zip files must be placed in GameData folder. (else you will get a success message, but the extracted folder will be in the same location as the .zip file)

new logic on the first launch of version switcher, restart will happen that will copy the version switcher to your gamedata folder, remove the old .exe and safely create shortcut, to ensure the app is always searchable
new logic app will now require to be launched as administrator to ensure access to folders, renames, deleting files, etc.

fixed 1.9.3.1 version not working
fixed 1.10.0.1 version not working
fixed special characters in playernames in the playerlist
fixed configs not applying to featured versions

reimagined install/play button to also contain the highlighting as other buttons

24/11/2024
added b17
added b16
added refresh button for servers
added loading servers... screen to avoid potential issues in the future due to serverlist being broken again
added no valid gamedata path screen to avoid user from using the app if they haven't selected the gamedata path

improved logic of applying custom config through quick settings tab
improved logic of the .bat files (now the user should be able to have file explorer open and still use the version switcher)
improved logic for shortcut creation

fixed not being able to rename gamedata path after using version switcher
fixed serverlist
fixed configs not applying for most versions

renamed "improve 3rd person camera" to "Fix Camera and Target damp" (sets these values to 1, default since ~1.6+)
replaced karusVC with kvintos animations for 1.9.2 - 1.10 (need confirmation if they work for the versions)
replaced 1.4.8 download with mediafire instead of moddb

By no means is this supposed to be cool looking flawless application. Its main priority is to ensure easy installation of accessible MBII versions, with some side extra features. Modifications weren't made by me and the credits go to their respective owners, being:
Schizopack - Joel, Vioxini
Penekepack, Penekemations - Penekowski
Kvinto's Animation Pack - Kvinto
NoobGuided Pack - Noob, The Unguided
Fetus Crosshair - BobbaFetus
J| Advanced ACM Counter - J clan / Pelmenu
Notable mention: Kvinto - for providing access to more MBII versions

GAME ISN'T LAUNCHING? TURN OFF YOUR FILE EXPLORER AND ANY OPENED PHOTOS. I AM NOT SURE WHY IS THIS HAPPENING, BUT IT DOES FIX IT.

MBII Version Switcher 2.0 - Work In Progress
As some of you may have noticed, the support for the MBII Version Switcher has ended long time ago, and the state it was left in was not exactly stable. There were issues with folders being locked, auto renames not working everytime, no support for quickplay, no support for moving config over automatically, possible 403s due to complications with webscraping.. The goal of this revamp is to fix issues, introduce features while optimizing the user interface in both performance and design.

I. VERSIONS
For easier navigation through versions, they will now be separated between Installed and Uninstalled expanding tabs.
Newly showcasing the year of release and expected download size.
Sn-mek-obrazovky-2026-08-17-152053.png

Notice the OFFICIAL / ADDON labels?
Any user of the app can now add their own .json file, which will make their version / mod, that is not officially implemented, still visible in the app. This effectively cuts out the need to update the app in the long run - as the users can support it on their own.

I.I VERSION DETAILS
Clicking the details button will lead you to the patch notes of the version, and a link to where the versions files are located for manual download if need-be.
Sn-mek-obrazovky-2026-08-17-152150.png

II. MOD BROWSER

Mods will now also contain tags showcasing ~ which versions are supported
Sn-mek-obrazovky-2026-08-17-152139.png

III. SERVER LIST
Instead of webscraping external server browsers to showcase servers that may be delisted, which only caused issues, the serverlist is now showcasing the same servers as the official MBII serverlist - with a filter to only display older versions rather than the current one, of course. Supports showcasing players online and direct connect if the version of the server is installed.

Menu Visualizer - Work In Progress
A smaller utility app of mine to visualize the MBII User Interface .menus. This project will not be maintained and does not support modifications. Its primary goal is to give you easy access to all possible Item and Menu properties that can be set, while making sure they're inputted correctly (0.0 - 1.0 colors, options for Item Type / Window Style, etc.). Supports dragging and resizing controls in Visualizer, translating @STRINGS to real text and scanning entire ui folder, creating nodes separated by Layout Name, File Name and finally Menu Name. Also supports quick-creation of various Item Types that are supported.

I. GENERAL LOOK & SETTINGS
Options to either display info about item (name, group and rect), hovered color or translating strings. Quick creation, saving menu, changing background color randomly, resetting selected Item / whole menu, or showcasing only specific groups.
The cvars tab lets you set a value to a cvar that is used in the menu as well, to either change visibility, values in sliders, or dynamically created text (such as FA Class Health).

Sn-mek-obrazovky-2026-08-17-154705.png

II. PROPERTIES

The properties tab will show every single property that is supported for the selected Item, while showing the currently changed ones on top. The visualizer also allows for showing descText upon hovering, and selected items will have a yellow border around them for easier visibility.

There is no set date for when these projects will be released, currently they're at 75% progress just waiting for me to get my mood and finish them.
I'm only announcing that these projects are something I'm working on in my free time and will hopefully soon see light of day.
