I am just here to ask what the Dev team thinks about hero in its current state. Is it balanced, not balanced, are you planning on tweaking it in future builds? I have my own opinion but I am just curious where the dev team currently is on the situation.

Just gonna give my short 5 cents here:

Hero and jedi are the only classes worth playing on rebels. Not because they're op, but other classes are bad. (or it is just my own view and I find everything else uninteresting)

disagree, the ET (esp. wingun), ARC, soldier are also good and fun to play

almost everything is perfectly balanced, except maybe grenades take too long to adjust throwing force (would love to see something similiar to EMP alternate throw for concussion grenades)

I would argue that Arc, is relatively weak compared to jedi/hero. Soldier, et, clones, are all decent with their pros/cons. I personally think Hero is OP as hell for several reasons.

Mind listing them?

Dash - In itself is extremely overpowered. It either needs a higher cool down when using it, or the recharge rate should be lowered. It is too easy to abuse vs sith. Either they need to lower heroes movement speed or revamp how dash works.
Dash + P3 - Dash in my opinion is already OP, using dash to line up shots with a p3 is like using a damage heavy sniper. Its ridiculous and way better than the e11. Why would you ever use an e11 again if you can just use p3? There is literally zero reason too.
Projectile rifle - It is ridiculous with the improved speed. It should be put back to the original where you have to actually lead your targets much more than you do now. In its current state tied with everything else that the hero has is the most powerful thing in the game.

Overall Hero has the most options to practically one shot individuals. I have just started using P3 recently and it is literally the dumbest and easiest thing to abuse to anyone who understands the basic mechanics of mb2. Something needs to give on the hero to make it more risky, currently the only thing that it doesn't have going for him is that he has one life.

I am sure anyone who has seen me play in the last 4 days would attest that P3/Dash/Sniper is ridiculous when someone can aim properly. Either other guns need a buff or P3 needs a significant nerf, same with dash.

Don't bother. It's never going to happen. I pointed this out so many times over the years but no one is going to touch everyone's favorite gunner class.
Except mine. I hardly play it precisely because its so gay and it fills me with disgust how many people do:) I think I've spent the equivalent of one entire week playing sniper since I started in b15.

Just not a fan of snipers. You disgust me, sirs!

Even the gameplay revolts me to such an extent that I purposely eschew any care for aim or personal safety when gunning except the bare minimum. Strangely enough, its more fun and I still do gud:) Ya hear that, you don't need to pretend to aim to be gudder!

But why is it everyones favorite class? High damage, high survivalist, even if you can't aim, you can still hang back and pretend to be effective by taking potshots that miss everyone but your teammates.

Just gonna give my short 5 cents here:

Yeah, its not op, its just because every other classes just sucks.:)

Thats one of my favorite gripes about this game. So many useless snipers(as well as jedi but thats for another time) that waste time with silly shots when not only the team but the game itself would be better served if you took out that trusty blaster at your side. Dynamic, pew pew, not oh, look at him miss:)

And in general, giving the fastest gunner class the sniper rifle is retarded, especially when they have so many weapons available. Dash is amusing.I keep trying to Johnny Cage shadow kick.

Heroes are easy mode. Same as jedi vs gunners. Especially when in the herd:)

Lock out certain weapons/abilities when selecting sniper.
Snipers should be a specialist class and or build.

But like I said, ain't gonna happen.

Trying to snipe anyone who's not a newbie at this game is mostly a waste of time; as a gunner just take cover to avoid sniper shots, you can also outplay the sniper by baiting sniper shots with little risk depending on what kind of cover is available to you. The only times sniping is effective is when dealing with newbies who don't see you in time to dodge, or when there is a high population such that you can't focus on the snipers enough (or when used with good teamwork vs worse teamwork to get sniping openings). If you get sniped in a 1v1, that just means you're bad compared to the sniper. And most of the time if you get sniped even though you were aware of the sniper, it just means the sniper was faster than you could react (= better than you) and he deserved the kill.

Sith vs dash 1v1: buy pull 3 and bait the dash to pull while it's going on, free kill, OR jump + lightning lvl1 prevents dash and free kill aswell. If the hero doesn't take the bait then you'll inevitably be able to get very close to him, in which case use saber-out melee or swingblock (if you get shot while swingblock while the hero dashes, you can pull immediately after your swing is interrupted).

Gunner vs dash: aim. Dash allows the hero to dance around you, punishing you if you can't react and aim, but if you can it's of little help to the hero apart from long/middle range when dashing in and out of cover.

L2play issues.

I share your opinion abut p3, although there is a reason to use e11 and that is prefire. You would never pick a p3 in a competitive match because you cant prefire effectively.

Dash is not op for the same reason mando rocket is not op(althought rocket is way more cancerous.) Sure you can't really beat a dash hero as sith in DOTF hangar but in tight corridors its essentially useless if the sith knows how to push at the right time.

And i have not seen you play at all. Are you from NA?

Yes, I am from NA (I have been playing since b16 which hero's been my primary class for forever), I would say that dash is OP in 90% of the situations as you can manually dodge without it to begin with. I guess I just think that it is TOO viable for a class that is already highly maneuverable.

P3 although you cannot hold down positions I would argue is very effective for prefiring. It's all about positioning, timing, and prediction which after some time you can learn to predict certain peoples movements and get 1-2 hit kill, especially on jedi's who attempt to jump around a corner at you.

I will say that I haven't played a competitive match since Rc1 (Or maybe after that, but not in the last two builds) however I would say that from my experience in matches prior to that, P3 would be effective in most situations as you have other classes to perform the role of prefiring anyways. Such as ET/Clone/Sold. P3 alone would be viable for doing massive amounts of damage/1 shot headshot's on soldiers/jedi's imo.

The only people I see complain about the hero are the ones who only play sith exclusively.
Heroes are very easy to deal with if you use a gun.

Get over it and spam force push like everyone else who plays with a glow stick.

I am actually primarily a hero/bh player and usually defend the class. However, I think the additions of dash, increase in sniper speed, and my new revelation about p3 shows that it is OP and too viable. Anyone who has been around the NA scene that knows me would attest that usually I would say don't touch hero, however he is significantly powerful compared to other classes. As I said the only weak part about him is only having one life against multi-lifers.

If I had to make a change about the class, I think the I would remove the sniper rifle because it just doesn't fit the hero class aesthetically.

Like, I know this sounds retarded when you can pick a character like porkins as a hero so the class is already has it absurdities, but it just looks like it doesn't belong on a art level to that class. I think it would look better on the arc troopers because arc's and commandos had dedicated sniping units and positions in squads. They are acclimated to using such weapons, but when I see han, leia or lando using it. It just looks goofy as fuck.

However this is coming from a position that thinks the hero is fine, like I have more trouble fighting jedi more so than heroes. And if sniping becomes a problem I just pick CMDR and put points in dodge. So it doesn't affect me on a game-play and balance level.

S1ck is good gunner, that is....if you can call being a whore sniper that sluts around putting that rifle up his butt good....:)

Trying to snipe anyone who's not a newbie at this game is mostly a waste of time;

Thank you for proving my point. Waste. Of. Time. If I have time to enjoy a cigarette during a round then its 2 damn slow.

as a gunner just take cover to avoid sniper shots, you can also outplay the sniper by baiting sniper shots with little risk depending on what kind of cover is available to you.

Funny idea bout risk management. Lets use my precious booty:) to bait the sniper into wasting his ammo. You have to dodge 20 times:) He has to hit once.

Don't disagree but it just highlights 'Time Waste'.

If the hero doesn't take the bait then you'll inevitably be able to get very close to him, in which case use saber-out melee or swingblock (if you get shot while swingblock while the hero dashes, you can pull immediately after your swing is interrupted).

Um, I see your bait and counter with mine: Dash only when saber swings(can't pull or push during a saber swing):)
Jump and lightning lvl prevents dash and free kill? Uh, still the fastest class and the sith can't push or pull for seconds after lit. A gud hero can dance around and shoot. Or will already be firing at the sith who just jumped into mid-air. Unless you ninja calling that a free kill only reminds me how bad most players are. Way to depress me.:(

Only tryhards swingblock:) Also, must have a lot of force to be tanking so many shots from an e-11/pistol 3 in idr.:) And hitting that window when they dash and still break the swing? U gud. Especially when that window is even smaller since you can't fire gun while dashing so it has to hit you before they dash for that to work. Feasible but really, 2 much effort.

Gunner vs dash: aim. Dash allows the hero to dance around you, punishing you if you can't react and aim, but if you can it's of little help to the hero apart from long/middle range when dashing in and out of cover.

Dash sucks against gunners. Need to combine dash with flying kick for Dashing Flying kick. 3x the range and twice the speed.

L2play issues.

My opinion is that hero is perfectly balanced against other classes. Even though I'm pretty low-skilled and get killed often enough, it never looks like because hero is OP, and I can see what did wrong, what led me to fail. Watching how other ppl playing gives same impression: seems hero and his opponent has same chances to win.

But I can't say same thing about clones; for me, they are terrible overpowered, sith (not only me) die from blobs faster than soldiers in intro of "Saving Private Ryan". After I get owned, I have feeling that there was no possibility to avoid it, especially when rebs had more then 1 clone.

My problems with dash is rather cosmetic one - it just looks silly. Mainly, due to 100% increase of velocity at the moment you use it, which made me to call it quantum translocator.

As per counters, Stassin mostly nailed it - I'll just add that even newbie sith who can't pull and use push only can kill you after during-dash push, around half times (other times roll may save you).

Hero doesn't fit a particular role in the game, they literally just do anything they want and it somehow works. It's a boring class.

Its funny to read stuffs like "learn to play" in a conversation about Dash, when the ability itself was created because players didnt know how to use Hero properly and never bought Quick Throw to easily deal with Sith... QT wasnt a core ability, while Dash is, so the problem was solved by creating something new, instead of learning how to play.
Anyway, I dont think Dash is OP in combat, but the skill itself is ridiculous, a non-Force user humanoid cant possibly move like that... but it was probably for the best to give a free Force ability (Starkiller's Dash) to Hero instead of... you know, learn to play.

I find it extremely amazing that people think Hero is balanced. The pull counter doesn't work very well. Apex was trying to do that to me yesterday and i would just wait and use my dash right after he pulled... or I would hit him with a p3 blast right as he pulled and it would nudge him backwards. However, I am not going to continue to argue the point if everyone seems to not see the imbalance portions of the heroes abilities if utilized correctly.

I can play other gunner classes quite well. If you realize that the sniping mechanic is similar to blobs, p3, t21 it is pretty easy to use other gunning classes. Also ET/Sold are relatively basic that anyone with decent gun skill can use them. I just have always preferred to play Hero for its movement speed.
