mac issues

I want to play deathstar 24/7 but it keeps giving me an error message however the base eternal jk works fine so I was wondering if anyone got moviebattles running on their m1 mac.

My friend tried to install MBII on mac recently, but when launched none of the menu text or servers show up. They are unable to change any settings from within the game. Any idea whats going on?
