You might want to check if you have "Simple HUD" enabled in your game settings, as well as anything else that may circumvent the changes this mod does. Perhaps the "Widescreen UI" setting affects this aswell.

Sorry for the late response, I never got any email notification for these replies for some reason. I just tested the mod after not playing for a while, the launcher updated my game, I went on a server and the mod still worked. After that I tried deleting and reinstalling the mod just to check...

I don't really know more than what is in the tutorial linked to in the main post. When you say ticks I assume you mean the parts that make up the health bar etc? I've not really tried to change them, but there are references to ticks inside the files that I have changed.
