Right. I think it'll be alot better once people adapt well. Thing is that the new system has alot of depth to delve into, so it may be a bit unforgiving for casual players vs not so casual players. Still, Stassin and I think that we shouldn't 'dumb' the system down because it has a very high...
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't even consider producing this kind of video, but since there's been a considerable amount of people expressing that they have difficulty killing eachother and ending duels quickly, I thought I would hop on and play a few rounds. Today I have demos from 5...
Kreia: "If you were to battle an old Sith Lord(European top Duelist) in a lightsabre duel, you would find that we're only children playing with toys. "
This is the general impression that I get from the American dueling scene according to Achilles comments. I don't know for sure ,but if someone...
@Preston I mean the 1.4 saber system is in a good place and not subject to major alterations at this point. We're not going back to 1.3.
Yeah you're quite right about that. Some of my duels end within 10 seconds due to getting 3 PB+counters and just destroying my opponent with it cause he...
I'm sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, since I wanted to continue developing the system and bringing it further and further, adding many interesting mechanics and adjustments. Unfortunately it seems that major changes to the 1.4 system will not occur. Tweaks like making red stagger last...
My brief experiences with red in the open beta have been a bit different from yours it seems. Similarly when playing against staff. Unfortunately I didn't demo these duels so I can show you guys, but the red duels that I had were generally much faster paced than yellow duels. Red is high-risk...
I feel like without PB stopping combo's there's not enough incentive and reward to PBing and duels will devolve into spamfests without much finesse. But it is a fact that duels can take up a long time if you're fighting someone of approximately equal skill. I think it wouldn't hurt if duels were...
Actually Ben, alot of people have been coming around from insta disliking the system to thinking it's atleast an improvement on 1.3. Of course, you can't please everybody, and if you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing no-one.
You can just upload the demos to the MB2 site and attach I believe. I don't mind if you zip the demos either.
I use autorecord demos and just click my bind for 'save current demo/save last demo' after each round. That doesn't drain my FPS at all o.o
So far in 1.4, there are many unique playstyles available to people. In order to record a wider range of playstyles and skill-levels, I'm making this competition.
Send me your best and most interesting dueling demos. I will pick a few winner duels and make a video with these duels in the hope...
Just on a general note, there seems to be a lot of talk going around about 'Turtling' and how incredibly slow duels are, but yesterday I had some duels with people whom I outskilled alot. Nearly all of those duels ended very swiftly regardless of what style I was using, be it blue, red,yellow...
Yeah yellow is quite interesting in this patch. No more boring 4 hit combo zombie style play. One of the main things I tried to get through was a basic principle to include more 'act-react' cycles. So one 4 hit combo while the opponent PB's or counter-combos would the 1 cycle. In the new system...
I second what is being said about Cameratargetdamp. Something is wonky here. I noticed it first when playing in the beta but thought it was just the map's fault for messing with dynamic crosshair. After playing gunner on open I notice weird targetdamp clearly. Even with 1,1 values it moves...
1. Bring Back RDFA Jump :) It seems nobody likes the reload RDFA jump beside you stassin :p
2. Make red stagger slightly longer (but not as long as in closed beta).
3. Remove 2 ACC drain from bodyhits/yellow perk from Cyan/blue or find some other way to balance it vs styles like yellow. Blue...
