Why did you guys remove another clan's group of servers off the master list?

Not cool.

I'm pretty sure this is an issue that's been discussed ad nauseam regarding The Divine in the past, and that it was agreed upon that it would never happen again within this community.

Further, it was done without any prior discussion, investigation, or any otherwise apparent reason. You literally removed three of the most popular servers in the community from the server master list on an impulse:

[tR]Deathstar
[tR]Rotation
[tR]Sanctum

Do you not realize the profound negative impact these kinds of actions have on our already small, dwindling community? Are you out of your minds?

What gives?

Movie Battles II Master Server Terms of Use

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THESE TERMS OF USE BEFORE USING THE MOVIE BATTLES II MASTER SERVER.

The Movie Battles II master server (master.moviebattles.org) is a public service provided by the Movie Battles Team intended to assist the community in locating available servers for the game. This service is provided as-is with no guarantee of availability or uptime. The Movie Battles Team reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice.

Servers may be delisted at the discretion of the Movie Battles Team for:
- Mimicking the name of official or other well known servers.
- Using a server name that contains threats, strong profanity, racism, or any other offensive content.
- Any relation to disrupting the availability of other servers, such as network attacks or other criminal acts by the server or server owner.
- Using exploits or any type of malicious server configuration that disrupts connected clients.

Here is what happened, I welcome the party that went through the back channels to get a competing clan taken off the server list to post any proof of whatever goofy allegations they put through in a public forum, it would be great. Anyways CB and tR has a scrim scheduled, due to internal drama CB kicked out 2 members off of its scrim team, they cancelled the scrim and those members went over to tR because they felt it they were more competitively minded. Later some tR members got perma banned for dubious breaking of CB duel rules causing a chilling of relations. Then an associate who likes to troll, not even a member, Lyric looked on the public steam profiles of a handful of CB members, these members had their first and last name as public information on public steam profiles. She then proceeded to go onto the CB server with the real life name of those players. Going into a goofy rage over their public information being relayed back to them over the mb2 Community they hooked and crannied their way to try and accuse tR whose servers make up a large portion of the NA pop to get them off the master list. Undoubtedly not over actual violation of the above policy but petty clan politics. Basically nothing any member or affiliate of tR violated the above policy, trolling someone by taking their information they publicized and making fun of it is just day to day conversation not particularly "doxxing" or even malicious just funny. Its not like people care when they put their real name and face all over game accounts.

I already wrote a giant ass post of why this sort of thing is goofy and scummy to begin with and makes moviebattles look like an unprofessional piece of software when developers intervene at all in community matters, or at least don't even publish reports or rationales on why they take actions that effect community members. I don't know if that post is still saved somewhere but basically if any user of software is being abused by developers of it just out of personal angst or an argument it will drive away what limited community is left of this game.

Just more funny e-drama in a community full of goofy people who want to be petty dictators over a small pond. Devs and clan leaders trying to live action role play their Caesar fantasies.

tR members can act like human beings when things hurt them. I'm impressed.

Regardless, tR is a thorn in the side of the community. It promotes trolling, and harms it as a whole. I don't have a problem with a number of tR's players, but at a certain point they need to grow up.

I can't stand bringing petty nonsense like clan drama or the like to the community forums, but this isn't an issue relating to CB, it is an issue relating with how tR handles their members. Members of AoD, CB, or Cultists don't go around violating server rules, then VPNing to avoid the consequences like children. They make such an awful cesspool like their servers, where they IP farm/Info gather people for whatever reason, then are surprised that it is eventually shut down.

"A thorn in the side of the community." -- Yet, we've had the most consistently populated server in the community for the last couple of months. Relaxed rules do not necessarily equate to trolling. Like any other clan on planet earth, yes, we have a wide variety of personalities, including trolls, but a majority of us just play for relaxation and enjoyment.

We don't ban people blindly, or "by association" (which is Gestapo-esque behavior, by the way) like a majority of the other clans in this community. We're the most accepting and relaxed server in the community.

In tR, we fully promote freedom of speech and expression of the patrons of our server. We only ban in the most extreme of circumstances.

There is a reason people like our servers and come to them.

Again if you want to make a community where the developers use their arbitrary decorum to devise who has access to software be my guest. The only NA clan left will be AOD with 20 players on max. If the "community" agreed with you we wouldn't have 20+ players all day for weeks at a time. This forum which is about a dozen people some who don't even play the game is not the mb2 community, which is the set of people who actually play the game. I mean if you want to harm the people who play the mod by making servers less available to them, be my guest and see where the mod is in a couple months.

New players flock to wherever they can, only to be influenced by your servers. Relaxed rules are fine, no rules (Then spreading this to other servers) is something completely different.

Your wide variety seems to consist of trolls, and unfortunate hapless new players that you recruit, with no inbetween. Your enjoyment is harassing people endlessly, such as Kael/Ranar, who are a testament to tR's cancerous tendencies. They have been harassed for years by the uppercuts, Paradine, Jim, and the rest who dodged any form of consequence through the use of VPNs.

You do ban people blindly, and for 'fun', as I have seen it, and so have countless others. You have freely given out admin to people, and are surprised that it was abused? You do not have the maturity to run a server in this community if the only reason you ban someone is 'haha lol', therefore it was taken away from you.

I personally don't care about how you ran your server, but I know that the vast majority of tR are scumbags, and I feel this is a fitting punishment.

Perhaps in the future, you can learn to keep control over your members/server, so that you aren't the equivalent of a garbage bag of tumors. Anarchy has consequences.

Slanderous completely. We have banned Billy Bob, who spams gore porn in chat constantly, and like three Tkers who tk all people in the spawn. Also its funny Achilles the leader of CB, Count Dooku/alltroll wants the clan competing with him for pop off the master server, no conflict of interest i guess. Admin abuse never occurs on the level of AoD/CB where people are kicked for arguing with admins, sometimes tR reset TK points of members and friends that's about it.

We have absolutely no obligation to introduce rules onto our server.

We just took a look at our ban list, and we have only two people permanently banned from our servers -- and we know exactly who they are. Further, none of us can recall a single instance where we have had admin abuse issues.

Regardless of how you feel about us, our clan and server politics are not of the concern of either you, or the devs.

It wasn't even me that wanted it, because I never went to your server, and never cared. However I have to consistently listen to complaints about tR on a daily basis from my members, about how your inbreeds happen to cause trouble on our servers time and time again.

This is your fault, not mine, I had absolutely nothing to do with it. Spin it all you like, but your childish actions brought you here.

It is a concern when it bleeds into the community, and other servers. It is a concern when the Devs actually have to take action. You must be blind, or stupid to not understand the cause and effect that put tR in this situation.

Or perhaps you simply don't care. Either way, I refuse to waste my time, I can only support that the devs made a good decision in this respect.

I never accused you of doing anything but preening for your own benefit, not causing the takedown itself. Of course a competitive game is going to have people bantering and bucking heads, that is why we wanted a friendly scrim in the first place. The only childish action is people trying to get people they don't like off of the game through manipulation of developers.

Why should the feelings of one clan members get another clan taken off the server list because of personal connection to developers? Such an utterly ridiculous thing is the exact definition i described years ago when this happened to D under similar circumstances. tR's lax moderation saw a resurgence of players in NA, now if this is followed through the mod will go back to slow decline it was on before.

How a clan runs their servers and community is not the concern of the devs, or any other clan. This is not about your feelings on the subject. It is about the inappropriate interference of devs in the community. We have not violated their terms of use, which are very black and white on the subject, and therefore, no interference should have occurred.

Feelings are irrelevant.

May I know if it was related to DDOS attacks on europe? (It is my assumption only.) Whenever, a less popular server had too m1any3 players during peak hours someone has been targeting it. Till people moved to another / targeting person's server.

I have been seeing it happening for a few months. No one bothered to say anything though but it was clearly happening, and often.

You'll be receiving a letter from my lawyer soon :).

I'm almost 100% sure this was the doing of Tempest, who is also a member of AOD. If this isn't a blatant conflict of interest, I don't know what is. I wonder what BlueFang Solutions would think about the NA MB2 devs killing their business. I would like to hear from an EU Dev on the matter and if they had any say in this. The NA devs have shown to be amateurs and disgustingly biased when it comes to community issues. You've made a huge mistake by trying to censor our clan.

I don't know anything about this retarded drama nonsense, but I am strongly against removing servers from the master list and blacklisting servers. I hate censure and pussies who can't take a joke and those who feel the need to protect the sensibilities of non-existent weaklings without a spine. I also think namestealing/slandering and that kind of thing is despicable, but it's not grounds for removal of a server or clan from the list. Actions taken by individuals should be judged at the individual level. The action of one cannot be attributed to the many, so unless this was some sort of concerted effort by this tR clan or whatever, to fuck with others, then this kind of thing is very sad. I really hate what the world is becoming. On one hand, we've got fucking censorious dictatorship advocates and on the other hand we have trolling, pepeing retards who're no better.

Everyone should just stop and behave properly like human beings, and whoever's an asshole needs to be called out as such and dealth with but I am really tired of people thinking that censoring something or removing it, is a solution to a problem. It not only infringes on others rights, but also on my right to make a choice. What if I wanted to play on this tR server? Oops I can't cause big daddy has censored/removed a clan. I mean, what even is this. Stop behaving like banana republic dictators thinking you're doing the community good. You just provoke the trolls to troll harder if you do this kind of thing, because it validates them and gives them power. Now you set a precedent.

So if I go onto a server with a VPN, doxxing ppl while pretending to be someone from say BG, then BG is taken off the server list? This is not the right way to handle this kind of thing, come on.

I see your point Achilles, in that this would be the only way to punish trolls who (so far) have escaped all attempts at justice. Despite this, I agree with the others, in that it is the wrong way to punish them.

SeV speaks the truth, censorship is not the answer. If it means letting them go free of punishment, then they must go free of punishment. We can not censor entire servers/clans unless they are dedicated to hacking/tking, and from what I can see, the clan's administrators clearly do not endorse breaking laws on other servers.

Now I may not know all the details, but I know that if this problem is to be dealt with, it must be at an individual level.

I'm actually a regular on [tR]Deathstar. It really is a good server.
