This bug is getting on my nerves, every time I start mb2 through the launcher, it starts regular JK multiplayer instead. Repairing does nothing, it only re-downloads the update. Starting MB2 through steam also did not work, and using the Jedi Academy folders executable's does not work either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
This issue first began when the 1.4.7 update was released. At first everything updated fine, however upon attempting to start the game, it would instead open normal JK multiplayer. The first few times I tried starting the game, it would freeze on the JK splash screen,
From this menu I could click on mods, and select mb2, however this wouldn't do anything.
However, I fixed this the first time by repairing the installation, I was then able to play unimpeded for a week or two. When 1.4.8 was released the game broke once more, the exact same problem occurs, except that repairing the installation no longer does anything to fix the problem.
After I enabled logging, I saw that every time I repaired the installation, several files would have wrong checksum's. I assumed these files are causing the problem, however I have no idea how to stop them from breaking every time I repair the installation.
I had hoped the 1.4.9 update might fix the problem, but it has not, and at this point I have run out op ideas on how to fix this.
Following suggestions from an older thread, I tried deleting all dll files in the Jedi Academy/Game Data/MBII folder. I then repaired the installation again to no avail. It still refuses to start, and at this point I don't know what to do.
Here is that previous thread
If i can not find a fix, I'll try reinstalling MB2, however given the length of time it takes to download MB2 I would prefer not having to.
