As I have played more and more I came to think that its mostly cause by SBDs, since I only crashed when I spectated or was near one.

Now I'm 100% sure that I crash because SBDs. I've played on a server with only 2 dudes and one of them was SBD and crashed a few seconds later.

seems to be related to the sbd death animation, at least that was the cause of both of my crashes

This isn't a universal issue, so it has to be system configuration or config specific. Please upload your openjk.cfg.

EDIT: Thanks to a beta tester we narrowed down the cause of the issue: the broadsword setting (enables ragdolls for corpses)

Please set broadsword to 0 until this is fixed.
