I already answered you (Gold) in the Discord, but I'll put the answer here too for anyone else's benefit:
cg_truefov 97
First person saber uses cg_truefov instead of cg_fov, and both FOVs are default 80, capped at 97.
Flinch only happens within a certain range. For example, if a jedi were to stand 20ft away from you and swing, and you shot him, he wouldn't flinch, because you're too far away.
In this clip, you shot him while he was still just barely outside of flinch range. I believe.
2:52 is an interesting documentation of the fact that the flinch range is pretty short, and because a jumping jedi is falling and therefore moving really quickly overall, they might get shot outside flinch range at the start of their swing and still land the swing on you as they're landing.

@Darth_Revan If you want to set about making your own mod of Revan's voice lines, here's how you'd do that.
1. Make a folder somewhere named "sound"
2. Make a folder inside that folder, named "chars"
3. Make a folder inside THAT folder, named "revan"
4. Make a folder inside THAAAAT folder...
Regarding your initial question: I'm pretty sure that Revan's quotes in MB2 are all pulled from SW:TOR.
I dislike this. Previous versions of MB2 had Revan as silent. I thought that was more fitting to the character. It's probably really easy to make a mod that returns him to being silent.
As...
I was speaking specifically about your
Which, in context, tells Gargos incorrectly that the last batch tried charge shots that increase shot speed. You gotta watch what you're saying.
Miscommunication is kind of a special bother for me. That's why I say everything as precisely as possible...
First off, Lyrion, you totally ignored the part where Gargos was saying charging up the speed of the blob. By saying "this was in the previous test," you totally misrepresented the previous patch's charge mechanic: slightly increasing damage.
Secondly, Gargos, I will say I'm pretty against...
I'm posting their own waifus in response to them. (Homura from Faux's avatar, and Phosphophyllite from Motoko's in-game name.) It helps that I like the same characters, though.
Here's my waifu tho.
First off: Sweet, you're another first-person heavy user, and you're one of the other people Altroll listed in that off-hand list I flaunt ridiculously in my sig. That I probably took out of context. But anyway: Yeah, I'm glad to see more proof that really great gunners recognize the usefulness...
As a bonus, I've got some theoretical explanations for why 3rd person is rather disorienting relative to 1st person in close-range scraps:
1. Because your camera is positioned some distance behind your character, if the enemy is right in front of you, your camera is actually further from your...
I, and at least three other good gunners I've talked to, switch between 1st person and 3rd person contextually. I personally use 1st person pretty heavily because I find that it makes aiming feel much more intuitive (point-and-shoot). While playing in first person I tend to frustrate/impress...
The red flash and camera shove that happen when you get shot in first person are the single biggest issue with first person, and make it incredibly aggravating to use in a close quarters gunfight. In my experience, first person is actually very useful for gunners in lots of situations, because...
Huh, if there IS a cvar for that, I gotta know. I've looked over the whole cvarlist before in search of interesting things, but I'll look over it again in search of this thing specifically. I hope it exists.
(Edit: Found "cg_drawHitEffects" but setting it to 0 did not seem to prevent pain...
SBD is easy to counter just don't play MB2.
(ironically proj is one of the best SBD counters)
Incidentally, on the topic of lightning and grip, I was just on the US Official Beta server with plenty of players, and [tR]Phosphophyllite's effective use of Grip got people (gunners) complaining...
huh. I consider this a... relatively major gameplay optimization, that also seems relatively easy to code given that Bowcaster already implements it. It seems to have a high Positive Impact : Difficulty ratio.
edit: I mean, if this change were made, it would have a dramatic effect on the...
