In order to prevent your swings from missing, you should always try and look down slightly while initiating combos that are using W,A, or D. Just aim your mouse down a bit and you should see an improvement.

Unfortunately only 2 people turned up, but it was a good experience nonetheless.

^ Agreed. I still remember people who would say 'MB2 isn't about duels', completely disregarding that about 25-35% of the population duel 90% of the time/duel solely. Two completely different games within the same game that each require separate attention.
