How do you launch game, exactly? You shouldn't run binaries directly, use MB Launcher or file Play MBII.bat that came with installation. Try switching to different client: MBII Launcher => Settings => Run game using: <select other item> => Play.

Try repairing your installation: MBII Launcher => Settings => Repair installation. Are you using mac?

If you physically cleaned you CD and the error is gone it means your disk could become completely unreadable in future. Maybe you should create a copy of that CD. Also it means if you get new errors during installation you can try to clean it once more.
