FAQ

In order to register as a team, the team captain must message one of the @Community Leadership on Colosseum Discord with the list of their players. Team registration is possible until 25 September 2025. Each team will be made up of at least 6 players (including the team captain) and up to 3 substitute players who will be able to sub-in at their captain's discretion. However, in case a team does not have at least 6 players available on the day of their match(es), they can pick up non-assigned players (fills) who show up on the day in order to replace no-shows. Take note that one team's fill can’t play for another team for the rest of the tournament.
The format will depend on the number of signed up teams after the team sign-up deadline is a few days before the event start.
The options depending on the number of registered teams are:

• a group-stage over the course of a week with 2 maps played per match, followed by knockout rounds in a Best-of-3 format;
• straight up knock-out rounds in a Best-of-3 format in case of a low number of registered teams.

In the case of group stages, two maps will be played between the teams in a matchup (6v6), with each round won being counted as 1 point gained in the group. Maps will be sorted out by the bans: each team bans one map from the map pool until only two maps remain. For each half of the map, teams will play until a team reaches 5 round-wins on a side, then teams will swap and again play until a team reaches 5 round-wins on the new side.

In case of a group stage the matches must take place up until the knockout stage weekend starting on 11 October 2025. The top 2 teams from each group based on points will progress on to the knock-out stages.

If team captains fail to agree on a match time before the end of the group stage, a schedule will be set for the final day of the group stage according to tournament rules. Should a team fail to appear at the scheduled match time, they will forfeit the match (receiving 0 points for the match). The attending team will be awarded the maximum possible points for the match.
Group stage - During this stage, 2 maps will be played in each matchup with a first to 5 round wins on each side. Each round won will count as one point in the group stage. The two teams in each respective group with the most points (rounds won) will progress from the group stage to the knock-out stage. Teams will have ~two weeks time to play their two group-stage matches and the date for each match will be left to the team captains' discretion. Match dates must be communicated to the @Community Leadership via Discord DMs or on the appropriate tournament channels in this discord server, to ensure that a referee will be present to officiate the match.
Each team first bans one map from the pool, then picks their map out of the remaining maps in the pool (ban, ban, pick, pick sequence).
A coin flip will be done, and as per the ban-ban-pick-pick sequence, the winner gets to choose whether they want to ban first (in this case they get to pick side on the first map) or pick map first (which means the coin flip loser will get to pick side on the first map).
When both captains confirm their team is READY, rounds will be announced as LIVE by the referee(s). However, captains will still be able to call the round VOID during the first 10 seconds of a LIVE round (or at the referee’s discretion), up to 4 times per match. Each team gets 5 minutes in their Void-timer; whenever their captain calls VOID, their Void timer will begin counting down until their captain calls READY. If their Void timer reaches zero, the match will continue regardless if the team is ready.
To ensure that the tournament is played fairly, we’ll be requiring all players to record their gameplay during their match. In the event of a cheating accusation, the accused player will have to submit their demo/POV after the match to the referee(s) for inspection, to determine if aim-assisting mods or wallhack was involved. If such mods are identified in the demo beyond reasonable doubt, the whole team will be disqualified from the tournament. If the accused player does not provide a demo/POV upon cheating accusations, the whole team will also face disqualification from the tournament. A quick guide on how to use in-game demos: OVER HERE
If you'd like to participate in the tournament and join a team, post your information at Colosseum Discord Server at #looking-for-a-team.

Example:
In-game name: Padawan
Classes I like to play: Jedi, Sith, Deka (can fill others if needed)
Experience: I played a few pugs
What I'm looking for in a team: team who wants to win!
Of course! In the likelihood of NA teams registered for the tournament a matchup between an EU and an NA team will take place on Colosseum Events for the first map and as regards the 2nd map, the two captains can agree to play it on an NA server. If an agreement between the two captains cannot be reached, the 2nd map will also be played on Colosseum Events. If an agreement is reached and the matchup comes down to a 3rd and final map, the map will be played with one half on the EU server and the other half on the NA server.

In the likelihood of a matchup between two NA teams, the matchup can be played on an NA server in its entirety.

If you have any questions or doubts, we are here to help!

Time for little Tournament update! :)

1. For now we have 4 registred teams: Je'daii, CELES7IS, Đuality, st6.
The tournament starts soon, so I encourage undecided teams to sign up (looking at you Shock). Especially since tournaments in this game have been a relatively rare occurrence lately.

2. A few days ago, we started a voluntary fundraising campaign for the prizes. So far, we've raised €225, and we're told there's more to come :)
The prize will be splitted between top3 teams, so more players will have the chance to win prizes!
If anyone is interested in donating or just want to check out what's the current balance, then here will find all the needed info:

Tournament start is almost upon us and team registration deadline has passed!

Most important info:

1.
We managed to collect a total of 360€. We'd like to thank all our donors!

2. I strongly encourage you to watch the videos that Onar and Kerajan have prepared for you:

3. Eight teams have registered, so the tournament format will be a group stage, followed by a single elimination knockout stage. Two groups have been formed for the 1st stage of the tournament:

Round system and win conditions:
Group stage - Starts 27 September. During this stage, 2 maps will be played in each matchup with a first to 5 round wins on each side. Each round won will count as one point in the group stage. The three teams in each respective group with the most points (rounds won) will progress from the group stage to the knock-out stage. Seeding has been determined by team or team member result in the first Colosseum Scrim Tournament, while the other 4 teams, which have not participated at last year’s tournament, have been given randomized seed numbers. As such, the groups and their compositions have been divided into even and odd number seedings:

Group AGroup B
(1.) CE7(2.) W/E
(3.) Duality(4.) Je’daii/Taivas
(5.) Clone Army(6.) st6
(7.) ::MOO::(8.) JMT

Remember that rosters of each team can be finalized till tourney start. Match times and dates must be communicated to the @Community Leadership via Discord DMs or on the appropriate tournament channels in this discord server, to ensure that a referee will be present to officiate the match. The Knockout stage will take place on 11 October from 18.00 CET and begin with Quarterfinals in which the 3rd placed and 2nd placed teams from both groups will fight in a BO1 format with 12 rounds for a place in the Semifinals. 1st placed teams in both groups progress to the semifinals automatically.
The Semifinals will then follow the legacy EU tournament rules of a BO3 type format where 2 maps won will be the win condition with a first to 5 round wins on the first side played system. Map win is considered when the winning team wins more rounds on side swap than the losing team before the side swap. The 3rd place match will follow the same system as the QF matches, while the final will follow the same system as the semifinals.

Map pick/ban system:

Group stage:

• each team bans one map from the pool, then picks their map out of the remaining maps in the pool (ban, ban sequence until 2 maps are left in the pool),
• A coin flip will be done and the winner gets to ban first, the loser picks first side.

QFs and 3rd place match:
• each team bans one map from the pool until 1 map is left,
• a coin flip will be done and the winner gets to ban first, the loser gets to pick first side.

SFs and final:
• each team first bans one map from the pool, then picks their map out of the remaining maps in the pool (ban, ban, pick, pick, ban, ban sequence),,
• A coin flip will be done, and as per the ban-ban-pick-pick-ban-ban sequence, the winner gets to choose whether they want to:
• ban first (in this case they get to pick side on the first map)
• pick map first (which means the coin flip loser will get to pick side on the first map).

Tie break system:
Both teams swap back to their starting sides, play 2 rounds, swap sides again, and play another two rounds. The first team to reach 3 overtime round wins will win the match. If the overtime score reaches 2-2, the map will go into double overtime with teams swapping back to their original sides to continue again in the same way until a team reaches 3 Overtime round wins.

Live and void round rules:
When both captains confirm their team is READY, rounds will be announced as LIVE by the referee(s). However, captains will still be able to call the round VOID during the first 10 seconds of a LIVE round (or at the referee’s discretion), up to 4 times per match. Each team gets 5 minutes in their Void-timer; whenever their captain calls VOID, their Void timer will begin counting down until their captain calls READY. If their Void timer reaches zero, the match will continue regardless if the team is ready.

Recording the match:

To ensure that the tournament is played fairly, we’ll be requiring all players to record demos/POV's during their match.

Did the clan that created the tournament win? Lol, that's how you kill a game and the players' enjoyment.
What sense would it make to host a tournament without the best Open clan rn? I find it pretty funny how you can blame someone for being both good at the game and genuine by hosting a tournament for everyone to apply and practice, find the likes of pugging in Open which is lowkey the only thing keeping it alive atm.
