Hey, what file do I need to get in order to make steam controller support work? It shows my correct controller inputs I added but inputs do nothing in-game

For a couple years now, I set up a controller layout through steam. Before launching the game, make sure steam is completely closed and not running. When you hit play on the movie battles launcher, steam will launch and a pop up window with yellow text appears. Simply click the x on the top right of the box and hit play on the launcher again. For some reason that has helped me use controller all this time.
