If that gif was a documentary footage of killing an owl, I do approve giving an infraction for that.I've seen things like this over and over again here. One of my favorite shitstorms (albeit largely internal, it waged for weeks) was when I infracted a dev for posting a gif of an owl being kicked dead by a footballer. This wasn't my first rodeo. Shit like this happens from time to time.
I do not support posting of real gore scenes, never did and never will.
And also I think that footage of animal gore/cruelty is much worse than human gore ("The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog").
But it seems you're missing my point.
I'm saying that devs decisions about me and other prominent community members are wrong and injustice. They hurt the community, they hurt the mod.
There is nothing to be proud of.
I believe k4far is banned permanently, isn't he?Worth noting nobody has been removed permanently.
Once again, it isn't something to be proud of.There was a time when a moderator on the old forums banned about 10 people for posting scantily clad women in a thread intended for posting scantily clad women. I believe these bans were permanent.
No, it wasn't.This spurred the banned individuals to go on 4chan and organize a sex/gore spam attack on the forums. Now that was a good time!
While I'm not against sex pics, if they are posted in a thread intended for posting such content, I strongly dislike gore, as well as any kind of spamming. I hate spam.
Actually, I stand for discipline, for following rules, for meticulous/scrupulous/thorough moderation.
I just don't find current rules right, I don't think they work for the common good. As well as I don't find some specific moderators' decisions fair and justified.
But I was banned for a week already!Plus. you are still here are you not? Not exactly removed are now?
And surely I will be banned again, for any reply in this thread, or for a second episode of my farewell thread.
It's only need two warning points to be "suspended" again, won't be a big surprise when some moderator will spare few warnings for this my activity. Criticizing devs is a very dangerous job now.
Third time, it isn't something to be proud of.To me this was nothing new. Our moderation has had a long history of being sporadic and very self-contradicting.
That's why you should assign me to a new position, "Site Leader", and give me emergency powers.
I can make moderation consistent, and which is even more important, popular across the community. It seems there is a conflict between the community and developers right now, and I can use diplomacy to fix it.
I can stop this war by making more popular decisions #Puppytine2017.
I can make majority happy #Puppytine2017.
Make MBII forums great again! #Puppytine2017
Though it also mean that moderation will became much relaxed and liberal. Not sure that all developers would be happy about that
I draw a pretty simply analogy: forums mainly exist to discuss gameplay, to provide valuable feedback and to solve technical issues. We can call it "forums' gameplay". So while my activity doesn't disturb gameplay aka serious sections, "it's not the admins job to handle". Simple.???
I still think and will always think that mb2 ingame chat should be free. This is a forum though, and I always made it clear that I want moderation on a forum.
You should read more carefuly
This you phrase can be applied directly to the forums: "Since we still have a small playerbase we can't just go around kicking/banning people because they said something racist/sexist/moronic. I've been insulted at least a billion times in this game, I can handle it. If you can't handle it just /ignore and it's done."
Small playerbase in-game, small userbase on forums.
And btw, "ignore" function exists on forums as well. People who are offended by my replies can use it and get rid of my bs once and for all.
Also it's strange that you blame AOD for kicking players for using n-word, but you are fine with banning users from forums because of some funny pictures. Inconsistent.
Especially inconsistent since there are no "sections", "threads" or "chatrooms" in game chat, it's just a single stream that cannot be split in any way.
On forums, you are able not to visit some particular threads or sections you don't like, and still having no difficulties using the rest of the forums.
This is the diversity. Diversity that doesn't hurt anybody, where users can filter out content to watch and content to ignore.
