Some Thoughts on Jedi/Sith Balance – Feedback from a New Player

Hi!!! I've been playing Movie Battles II for a few weeks now, and I’ve mainly focused on the Jedi and Sith classes. First off – amazing work on how melee and saber combat feels. It's one of the most unique experiences I've had in any Star Wars game.

That said, as a newer player, I’ve noticed a few things about the Jedi/Sith gameplay that feel slightly off, especially in open mode:

Force Points feel very limited: Especially when trying to play supportively (e.g., Sense + Push), it’s hard to stay useful without running out of FP quickly.
Force vs. Gunner feels inconsistent: Sometimes I can easily close the gap, other times I feel totally helpless depending on the map and gunner skill level. Is this intentional or just a learning curve?
PB (Perfect Block) system is hard to learn: I’ve read the wiki, but in actual duels, I still struggle to understand what I’m doing wrong. Are there better visual cues planned or tutorial tools?

I’m not suggesting major nerfs or buffs — just wanted to share some thoughts and see what the community thinks. Is this something others feel too? Or am I just not Jedi enough yet? 😅

Would love to hear how experienced players manage these things, and if devs have any balance plans in future builds.

Not sure how much you really know then, but PBs are mainly about prediction, reaction time and muscle memory. You may know the theory, but without many hours put into the actual practice, you'll never be "that good" with them. The further you are from your opponent, the more time you have to react to said swing, and look at one of the PB zones to block their swing. Be aware that opponent's movement may also cause you a hard time with perfect blocking.

Notice that some of these zones contain more letters, they're overlaps allowing you to PB both the zone above and below.

If you want training for saber combat there are several active dueling clans that will show you the ropes. Once you have the basics of sabering down you should see improvement when using Jedi in open mode.

These are a few active duel clans.

Cerberus (CB)
Longsword (LS)
Freaky(Freaky)

You can join the discords through links on the MB2 server list. Most have a little discord button you can press.
