Play without launcher (Steam)

Is there a way to play MBII WITHOUT launcher in Steam version of Jedi Academy?
I set +set fs_game "MBII" but the servers keep kicking me

Launcher running in a background for MBII is a must, but you're not forced to actually start the game with launcher, just start via Steam and keep the launcher running on the background.

If you want to play Jamp it messes with your steam files.
