General
  • Spin
    • Fix: Can no longer receive same usable item such as sentry if you already have one
    • Fix: Duel Mode prevents getting an "instant respawn/extra life" as it doesn't do anything
    • Fix: Removal of "No Weapon" can not happen anymore

Open
Further expansion of the Soldier and Trooper have been in the works. It now sees a return of the old ways via Close Combat 2 and a split of the Assemble attribute. When playing a Sold/Trooper you are gaining a third life at the cost of firepower, utility, or movement. We've kept an eye on the new weapons and brought a much-needed nerf to E-22 and CR-2. This will clear the way to further iterate on Rally/Assemble.

The patch also has made new grounds in MBII by finally providing a large buff to gunners. Knockdowns are now less punishing by making the hero/bh getup the standard for gunners (even sold/trooper can get it with CCT level 2). This patch also includes some much needed buffs to Clone Carbine secondary, SBD and Deka.


Imperial Soldier:
  • Change: Getups increased from 0 to 1.
  • Change/New: Close Quarters Combat Training, grants melee special moves.
    • Level 1: 3 points for 1.2x move speed in melee.
    • Level 2: 10 points for 1.2x move speed in melee, 1.1x speed with weapon, increase getup from 1 to 2.
    • Level 3: 10 points for 1.2x move speed.
  • Change/New: Assemble now split into levels.
    • Level 1: 0 points for enabling rally spawn. Also you are no longer forced to take assemble 1.
    • Level 2: 2 points, when rally spawning, gain 20 temp hp.
    • Level 3: 3 points, when rally spawning, gain 20 temp hp, and 1.2x bonus speed.
  • Change: E-22 increased primary damage from 30 to 33 and decreased alt-fire damage from 50 down to 45. Decreased FP drains by 1 across the board, the secondary close FP drain was decreased by an additional 1. Primary velocity increased from 7500 to 8000 while secondary velocity decreased from 6500 down to 6000.
    • Level 1: Increased point cost from 8 to 14.
  • Change: Ammo point cost decreased.
    • Level 2: 4 to 3.
    • Level 3: 6 to 5.
Rebel Trooper:
  • Change: Getups increased from 0 to 1.

  • Change: Decreased the amount of battery drained from incoming damage by one third.
Deka:
  • Change: Reduced the damage taken when Dekas are rolling with Hull 0/1/2 from 2.0x to 1.5x.
    • Hull 3 still lowers it to 1.0x.
  • Change: Reduced lightsaber bonus damage to Dekas from 3.9x to 2.5x.
  • Change: Reduced the possible negative ammo from EMPs from -30 to -15.
BH:
  • Change: Ruptor alt fire ammo drain down from 6 to 5 to bring uncharged scope fire it in line with primary.
Jedi/Sith:
  • Change: Attunement based FP pools re-enabled.
    • Level 0: 80 fp.
    • Level 1: 90 fp.
    • Level 2: 100 fp.
    • Level 3: 120 fp.
    • No Saber: +30 fp, this stacks with Attunement.
  • Change: Blaster Defense changes, nerf to BD3 and buff to BD1.
    • Level 0: 2.5 (no change).
    • Level 1: 1.25 to 1.2
    • Level 2: 1.0 (no change)
    • Level 3: 0.8 to 0.85
  • Change: Removed the no blaster defense requirement for Force Repulse. Now only requires jump 3, push 3, and pull 3.
That changes the effective defense numbers:
BD1/ATTN3, from (100/1.25 = 80) to (120/1.2 = 100)
BD2/ATTN2, no change, so (100/1 = 100)
BD3/ATTN1, from (100/.8 = 125) to (90/.85 = ~106)

Compared to last patch, this is ~20% nerf to BD3/ATTN1 and a ~20% buff to BD1/ATTN3. Beware these are white room numbers as it doesn't take regen into account. Keep in mind regen rates are the same so higher BD regenerates bigger percent of a defense pool where each point is worth more in the same period of time.

The goal was to collapse the distance between levels of BD as having about a 45% change in survivability between BD1 and BD3 was too great.

Sabering

Based on player feedback over the past several months, staff spins have received slight speed buffs in their animations, and Red style has received a slight nerf to avoid punishing players for simply existing against Red, but it has been compensated by sharing Purple's counter perk and by also allowing stagger to occur even when the enemy is in a slap animation. Purple has also gotten a smaller perk to compensate for losing its "in-return pb" privilege.

This patch also brings perhaps a controversial change, known from the 1.5 version, but one that can be deemed more of a quality of life improvement, than a game changer. Perfect Block once again gives the defender BP, specifically 2. There are no plans to increase this gain in the future. Successful manual blocks no longer give a cooldown penalty, in an effort to further recognize and reward skill in the sabering system.
  • New: Manual Block indication
    • Blue [Defender]: Successful MBlock & Perfect Block
      • Note that this means using Staff's perk will also cause a blue crosshair, even without matching PB zone.
    • Blue [Attacker]: Your attack was mblocked
    • Red [Defender]: You failed MBlock, either because of timing, direction, or you were in cooldown.

    • Fix: SA -> A spin now applies the additional spin bonus damage and looks a bit better

    • Change: Perk - Piercing PB: no longer deals damage through PB, but will still receive ACM
    • Change: Perk - Stagger: Now activates on 2nd consecutive bodyhit, instead of first. Also allows staggers to happen when defender is in saber out melee move.
    • Change: Now shares a perk with purple, allowing a 1-swing counter even after reaching the combo limit
    • Fix: Perfect blocking while staggered by red now again cancels stagger
  • Purple
    • New: Perk: When perfect blocking a halfswing, gain 0.34 ACM (partial acm)
    • Change: A->W transition animation received slight speed buff, as it was previously too slow
  • Duals
    • Change: In preparation for a slight rework, now gains +1 swing for every 3 ACM instead of 4 ACM. Infinite combo limit stays at 14+ ACM

    • Still requires player to be in a valid state (shifting, blocking, etc.) for 400ms, but;
      • The timer for BP regen ticking now decays depending on your state. Previously, the timer for regen ticks would reset with a change of state, or ticked in the background - allowing microstops
      • Swingblocking without walking will decay less than just running, allowing for a regen tick to happen during a combo.
    • Rule of block points regenerating every 400ms still applies.
  • Fix: Force speed no longer instantly resets combo chain
  • Fix: Rolling will no longer cause you to take extra 5% damage from the in-slap damage modifier
  • Fix: Trying to perform a special attack right after saber out melee move should feel more consistent now instead of inputting a W swing
  • Fix: Trying to force jump immediately after a backslash now results in an actual force jump, instead of just a hop
  • Fix: Attacking after getup should feel much more responsive now
  • Fix: Saber style switch when starting a private duel now happens instantly instead of being queued
  • Fix: Meditating now again allows for 4 BP regen per tick instead of 2

  • Fix: Duals/Staff second blade is now visible when changing from single style to duals/staff while in saber throw.

  • Fix: Special attacks are no longer victims to "RNG" disarms
  • Removed: Cooldown on successful MB. The only cooldown now is 1500ms on fail.

  • Fix: MinimalismHUD - moved lagometer back to its default position to not overlap with old class bar

If you want your stuff in official releases, it has to be official standard. I takes me about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on if its a duel map or a normal map to make the levelshots whos source is provided within the mod tools. But it takes you 4 hours to make what is equivalent to a couple black boxes, some text and two images placed on top of a background one? That's beyond pathetic. Your rant was completely unjustifed and Frenzy said he would help you make it look cleaner. It was lazy and you know it.

Nobody is perfect, but it is ABSOLUTELY none of FrenZy’s business what I do with Supremacy assets, this was determined in the beginning and it is constantly you guys forcing me to fight for inches when there could be miles. Everything about this dev work is a two way street and I’ve only seen one this entire time. You guys are “Oh oh so considerate” by doing the absolute bare fucking minimum by throwing a .PK3 on SVN, but anything more than that? Is too much to ask, and I apparently don’t contribute or something, Defiants words. I think me and my team has contributed more than enough to get a simple mbmode. You can try to detract from the topic to make me look bad because I refuse to bow to control freaks. Obviously working on Supremacy assets myself have worked well for the past two years and I most certainly don’t need quality control for a custom FA I make. You guys nitpicking constantly what other people do is another problem. I’m surprised I stuck around for as much as I did because you guys are absolutely a displeasure to work with. Far from a coherent, welcoming, and all encompassing team. Far from it, and you deserve every amount of flak this community gives you for your neglect to this game at large allowing it to fall into such a decline.

Nobody is perfect, but it is ABSOLUTELY none of FrenZy’s business what I do with Supremacy assets.

It is 100% frenzys business if you want to be a part of the team, as a probationary developer, and have your assets officially included with the mod and distributed by official channels via the launcher.

Also it is all a fucking lie.

Here is the PSD included in the mod tools, and the one you would have been sent (Or a version of it) Mine is slightly updated with the logo for conquest, but that is about it. Which will be provided in the next mod tools version.

You can see that there is no black boxes anywhere that you speak of. The text is also a different font, and doesn't have black backgrounds behind it. And we don't even use the PSD for text anymore anyway as its now a part of the .siege file. So completely irrelevant to include in the PSD, and to have a black box around it. You added 4 black boxes on the left in addition to the two on the right which could never have been included in our PSD. You also didn't align the logos properly for the teams and you included your fucking QR code logo in the loading screen. None of that is acceptable in an official loading screen. It looks hacked together, nothing is aligned properly, it is all the wrong fonts, etc.

The way you guys treat creatives that are fed up tells this community everything they need to know. If you spent as much time arguing with people and trying to find dirt on people you could spend actually creating.

And for the record, the .PSD I sent most definitely had it, I had to improvise cause they tell you what to do constantly but never actually take the time to walk you through the “quality control” they so desperately demand.

And also, no, that is not FrenZy’s jurisdiction and I refuse, I did never agree to anything that allowed that level of control to the MBII team, I considered open sourcing for a while but I’m thankful I didn’t. You guys would rip it apart like vultures. The negativity, people that are fed up become your circus animals. You live and breathe for this kind of negativity and drama Mace. It is so unbecoming on so many levels. You guys have so many options and choices, yet make anything but the correct ones. You’ve always been a wrench in everything I do, even going as far to tell me the content I make won’t be allowed to work on your maps. Only someone like you could spend the time to be as duplicitous like that. Your unpopular opinion that FA developers should never become MBII developers is everything wrong with this game. I also think it’s strange to focus on these things Mace when I was never given the ability to push or interact with any code, systems, normal developers do. I was never treated as a developer and nothing I make matters to you guys anyway, bottom line. How am I upheld to this standard if I’m still sidelined as the day I began? It’s been a constant uphill battle and you guys would rather drag me through the dirt before admitting how you handle creatives is just plain wrong.

I am not a fan of Mace or Defiant but you can't expect to join the team, push for your game mode to be an official release, and then not follow their visual standards when it comes to loading screens/logos etc.

I have not been following the story between you and the developers, but I think it is ridiculous and unreasonable to expect them to lower the visual standard of the mod and then to argue against it

Does it occur to you that you're talking more about YOURSELF than about your Supremacy?

Your work is 95% based on the current database of an individual mod that has been around for over 20 years. And, you are directly accusing the current developers that their work does not meet your specific standards, vision and concepts that you have developed over the year. Do you feel the difference between 20 years and 1 year? I agree- nothing is perfect, but running around like a headless chicken, spitting poison, blaming everyone around you, and trying to kill a mother modification for the sake of recognizing your Supremacy? You obviously have a problem with logical conclusions and self-control.

Right now, you specifically are acting harmfully for your own work. You're doing bad marketing with your behavior. Another year will pass, and the new game mode will be forgotten if it does not bring new ideas. As it was with the Open Mode, as it is now with the Legends. (Although Legends are a huge testing ground for combining classes and honing the balance, and not everyone understands this.)

Please calm down and stop being self-centered. I wish Supremacy lived as long as possible and you realized that the world does not revolve around you.

You guys can take all the credit but John is the one who did most the work in Conquest.

John is responsible for a grand total of 7 commits starting from Oct 12th 2024, to May 8th 2025. One commit is a compile fix. The last 3 commits are features I asked for on my return, that were necessary to polish conquest. There are a total of 78 commits to the conquest branch that have yet to be merged with master. Which doesn't even include the conquest stuff that has already been merged with master (as evidence by the capture node objectives existing on multiple maps). I have 19 commits to that branch for example.

You are the one minimizing the efforts of other developers over the years. Below is just the commits where someone actually put Conquest in the title or comment part of a commit. You have no idea the effort that it took to get the respawn system working without a ton of bugs for CTF and Conquest that was a part of the CTF release. That was the most major show stopper for conquest. Redsaurus and Spaghetti are the ones that made conquest finally possible after all these years. I am absolutely greatful for the upgrades john did because conquest wouldn't be polished without his work. To discount the work that others did when conquest was functional before john was even a member of the team is just... I don't even know dude.

Once the dev team drops you’re a “schizophrenic psychopath” what else is needed to be said? Now the rest will do the work for them. Quit playing into their hand, it’s despicable.

I’m not “killing a mother modification”. I find it wild I’ve even been compared to SXX before I had to lay that on defiant. I have no interest in “hostile takeovers” or none of the such. Allow a community where people can see their hard work added and consistently enjoyed! How is this too difficult to ask for ??

I don’t blame everybody but me. I do plenty of things wrong, but everyone is escaping the focus of this topic to begin with. Which is Supremacy. Quit with the gaslighting. I’m talking more about Supremacy than anything else here.

I know what it’s like to have my work marginalized trust me, and you have the nerve to suggest I feel/enable the same. Obviously it’s been a long time coming but if it wasn’t for John dipping his toes into it and proving we could literally have this sooner than procrastinated. Yeah, I’d say you have a lot to be thankful towards John for. Believe me more than anything Supremacy is made to be the quentissential full authentic experience to go alongside Conquest. If you don’t agree then you haven’t played it. Oh. That’s right. Which guess what, that is one of the things I literally spent a bunch of time coding on for conquest, because the UI also wasn't good enough. I wish people could relate to how I’ve been made to feel right now. Nobody understands the amount of work that has gone into this, and people can mischaracterize it all they want and make deductions of my character or the project. It’s by design things are this bad. I have only good intentions with this mod and I tire of being made the villain and having to defend the work CONSTANTLY. Nothing has been fair from the get-go. I have faced constant opposition. This team is not easy to work with and they will weaponize public opinion against you far before admitting they are just simply wrong! Nothing about this has been fair, fair to the players that actually do enjoy, play, and understand it in all that it is. I listen to those people and work on it around them. It’s no brainer why I keep facing opposition because of this one difficult truth that seems hard to understand:

I happen to listen to the players do and quickly implement the changes they want to see far before the MBII team. It takes you 4-5 patches just to get shit right for duelists. You guys make changes without consulting the player ever. Now that a project exists because of player feedback and it was built around it in all aspects; that it can actually turn out into something actually decent!

You don’t have to like it and that’s their prerogative, but if you don’t understand it don’t talk on it without playing it first. We play every Sunday and I have announced my changelogs every update. I just think it’s not fair my treatment all along and people who can barely piece 1-2 together of this drama is just riding off the rails with retorts and ill informed replies. Seriously guys this is a SERIOUS problem. It starts with me but can be any of your projects tomorrow. I’m dead serious. One day you guys will probably think back on this and be like “damn this dude was right”

I’m gonna say what people don’t like to hear, especially in this dev team. I’ll find it hilarious that I got removed from the dev team entirely for disagreement fundamentally with Defiant but he “disagrees with John all the time” look man, this isn’t my paranoia, but you guys are more concerned with the actual work and what it can provide you before considering its creator. Like, you’ll allow the gamemode a seat in the assets but never fully include me in the team and they want to lecture me on process, on trust! When they never dispensed me any to begin with. I think I exceeded their expectations and I’m deeply paying the price for not being a yes man and handing it over. Everything as a part of me is telling you I want to give back to this game. It doesn’t have to be this fucking difficult. Take my word for it and don’t waste your time. Eezstreet warned me but I didn’t listen. Playing this game is one thing but sinking your creative energy into something for people to just play with it like it’s nothing is the most obscene thing you can put up with. I don’t think anyone here can relate.

Why should I believe you? It's your fault that this is the second time such a scandal has occurred (public). Instead of accepting the apology, understanding, and getting into the situation, you started spitting poison. To wish for the closure and emptying of the game, to blame and hysteria because your work (which is no longer needed in the official publication, because of your hysteria) was not used. 🫤

That's exactly what you're doing, in my opinion, you're making yourself love, and you're demanding to do what YOU want, despite other things.

There’s a lot of things you don’t know and didn’t see. I tire of explaining it for the 100th time and let people find out for theirselves.

I loved frenzy he was my buddy and I was in EW years ago. He’s one of those friends you can’t be friends with in the places you work, or like living with someone for example. Everything has been cordial with him until I became a dev. I wish he knew how frustrating it made me feel to constantly downplay my efforts or run me in a circle a few times until I got in touch with Defiant. It’s something I hope I can amend with him but everyone has to know they’re not perfect either. It’s not a rational thing to assume everyone will get along with each other at all times.

Ayo don't get duel related changes into this mess of an argument. The R20 release was a shambles that needed continuous fixes and balance changes, which I'm very happy to be able to provide for the players, and they got already more in the last two patches than they had received in the last 6 months beforehand. Absolute majority of my changes to Duel mode have been made due to a player feedback, be it nerfs, buffs, additions or simply fixing a bug reports, made by players again. Just because I didn't decide to gather up all of this stuff into a one major patch, as R20 did, and what it resulted in, doesn't mean you can use the amount of patches as an excuse to show "incompetence" or whatever it is that you tried to prove here.

TLDR: Player feedback is changing sabering by absolute majority, and people appreciate frequency of updates and acknowledgements to feedback.

Nobody understands the amount of work that has gone into this, and people can mischaracterize it all they want and make deductions of my character or the project.
People understand that you are doing a big job with one hand and with the other hand you are ruining attitude towards you because of tantrums.

They are constantly under pressure from the community they have gathered around them. And they do free work for fun. Maybe you should be more respectful?
Nothing about this has been fair, fair to the players that actually do enjoy, play, and understand it in all that it is. I listen to those people and work on it around them. It’s no brainer why I keep facing opposition because of this one difficult truth that seems hard to understand:

I happen to listen to the players do and quickly implement the changes they want to see far before the MBII team. It takes you 4-5 patches just to get shit right for duelists. You guys make changes without consulting the player ever. Now that a project exists because of player feedback and it was built around it in all aspects; that it can actually turn out into something actually decent!
A large and unwieldy mechanism, I wrote about it above. Plus synchronization within the team, plus correction of other errors. And your words are now devaluing ~26 testers in the beta branch.
You don’t have to like it and that’s their prerogative, but if you don’t understand it don’t talk on it without playing it first. We play every Sunday and I have announced my changelogs every update. I just think it’s not fair my treatment all along and people who can barely piece 1-2 together of this drama is just riding off the rails with retorts and ill informed replies.
Keep playing with your like-minded friends in your sandbox. Promote your regime, advertise, make videos. Why should the main team let players flow into your mode, players who have been gathering for decades?
