Technical Issue MacOS? .EXE?

Quick question:

On the download page, the MacOS launcher seems to download ...an EXE?

Assuming this is either a mistake, unless I'm supposed to open this with WINE?

Eyeballing the "MacOS install tutorial", which suggests a 3rd party launcher. Though that's from 2018, so I'm curious if that's out of date, and the .exe launcher is what I should be using. Or if the official launcher download is mistakenly the wrong file, and I should be following the manual install guide from 2018.

Thanks in advance.

You run the launcher with the MONO runtime. If it works, I don't know.

The launcher referred to in that tutorial has nothing to do with MBII but may work to start the game with the mod if setup correctly.

You can either use launcher with the mono framework which will run CLR applications, or you can use the manual installation steps. Launcher used to work for installation on MacOS but i dont have any up to date information, it is broken on several linux distros.

It's reported numerous times that current Launcher doesn't work on mac OS.
Install Movie Battles manually, and use JKJALaunch to start it up.
Warning: latest macOS has dropped 32-bit support. There's no 64-bit MBII, in case you have latest macOS, either downgrade it or use Windows.
