It's possible but controls are kinda subjective though so you have to customize it yourself, as long as it matches what the keybinds are in game(if R is reload, make sure that the corresponding controller input is R). I know steamdeck uses linux, so I don't know if you will have the problem I have. In order for me to get my controller detected on movie battles, I have to make sure steam is completely closed before hitting play on the launcher. An error box with yellow text comes up and you simply hit the x in the corner and hit play again and it allows the controller to work for whatever reason. Been doing that for a couple years now. Sorry if this was no help. I have a steam layout that I use, but again, it caters to how I play specifically.
