Welcome! My honest advice would be to not give too much thought into your K/D score for a while. Just explore the maps, classes and mechanics and well... have fun. Score ain't that important.

I think this whole "other maps are shit" is just a trend started by a vocal minority over the years with everyone else repeating it as sheep afterwards. It wasn't like that before. Back in the day servers had large map rotations and everyone seemed to enjoy most of the maps, no whinings or one...
