Im guessing that's what your anti-virus is blocking. Either disable it during the install or you can try grabbing the AutoUpdater from here manually: http://update.moviebattles.org/launcher/AutoUpdate.exe

Looks like something is blocking it from launching. Try running GameData/AutoUpdate.exe as an administrator.

How long have you left it for? You may need to allow 30 seconds to a few minutes for the larger files on the first run.

We have released a small update to Launcher to fix a couple of bugs that made it into the last release. Fix: The minimiser will no longer be disabled after the 'Settings' screen is displayed. Fix: The self updating mechanism will now be able to update its self when an 'AutoUpdate.exe' already...

But less frustrating and more user friendly that a server changing maps and booting you out because 5 years ago you clicked No to a message box you didn't even bother to read the first time.

Doing that should fix your crash and wont require a reinstallation

Where are they located?

Something is blocking it from running. Are both MBIILauncher.exe and MBII_Patcher.dll present. What happens if you try and run MBIILauncher.exe independently

It looks like your download was corrupted actually. If you upload the MBIILauncher.exe that has been downloaded to this site Online MD5 Hash Generator & SHA1 Hash Generator and see what it's MD5 is. It should be C9B600984B92C26CE78B9D4AD5389E77. Any other value indicates a corrupted download.

Is the AutoUpdater running as an administrator? That error message means exactly what it says. Access Denied when trying to load the new Launcher

I have updated the first post with a workaround for the Minimiser. Please let me know if this works and i'll get a code fix for the scenario pushed out.

Can you post a screenshot of any error messages?
