Ok have you 100% installed correctly? As my mate had this issue and this was the problem for him at least.
Your folder for jka should more or less look like PIC 1.
you then just place the Movie Battles 2 launcher into the gamedata folder and copy a link of the launcher to your desktop and run it from there. Hope this helps :)

Did you even read the installation instructions?
Why are you trying to launch the mod from base JKA?
What exactly happens when you try to launch the mod from MBIILauncher?

1. Uninstall MBII - Open MBIILauncher.exe -> Uninstall, Yes.
2. https://www.moviebattles.org/download/MBIILauncher.zip
3. Place those files into a folder on your Desktop. Mine is simply called "MBII".
4. Run the launcher, it will detect the correct path for Steam and GoG installes or ask you to locate the JKA GameData folder for other installs you'll need to locate the path yourself.
5. Wait for the installation to complete.
6. Press the PLAY button.

If you have the Steam version, you'll need to enable "Steam integration".
The launcher should ask you whether you want to do this automatically, but if not:
Settings -> Steam Integration (in the MBIILauncher, obviously).

If the game fails to run, or crashes on startup:
- Settings -> Engine -> MBII Client

If you're still having problems, let us know, I'll try my best to help you.

You don't need to do this.
