Itself. I'm not sure if sabering mechanics included stuff from OJP at some point in the early days, but it's been so many years of revisions that you really can't say it's based on anything else at this point.

Back when you had to manually install (Pre-launcher days) I remember the readme containing a shoutout to the OJP (Open Jedi Project) team. The old saber system had a lot of commonalities with the OJP one (and there's definitely certain elements shared by both still) so I assume it is based off that.

Although OJP is long-dead as of now (afaik) and due to the drastic amounts of changes to MB2 over the years, I would say the MB2 system is pretty unique.
