Launcher Trouble installing MBII on mac

I followed the guide of this [Guide] Mac Installation
but for some reason, it just goes straight to the empty notepad. now the thing is I remembered that when I downloaded mono from google I clicked open when finished, it opened did everything and it said done it is installed.It asked me if I wanted to move it to trash (the installer) and I said no... next thing I know I go to Finder to find the app and I also go to launchpad and it's not there, the only thing I could find was the installer of mono. I tried downloading it again for some reason and of course, the same thing happened.Now is mono suppose to work like that...Cause if it isn't then I guess I'm installing it wrong..Or something...Please help

Ok but Mono isn't on my mac at all... I downloaded it all those guides require mono and apparently Idk why I go through all the steps of downloading it and then only end up with the installer...Which takes me through the installation all over again...Wtf...
