I try to join a server and it says something like "snaps too low: 20 (minimum is 40)". What does this mean?

Solution
It means the server set its sv_minSnaps to 40, so you're not allowed to join unless you set the client side setting (snaps) to at least that.

This should already be the case if you were using the recommended network settings:

Snaps should be the same or higher than server fps. 40 is the standard, but some servers run higher snaps like 50 or 80. If you go to the server list on website, launcher or in-game and click info, you should see sv_fps of the server.

The console command for this is simply /snaps 40 and it means, how many snapshots are you sending to the server. If it's capable of receiving 80 snapshots from your client, but you only send 40, that is not optimal, likewise if you're sending only 20 to a 40 server.
