After trying fresh installs of the launcher and JA(steam), i can't get the mod to work. Whenever i press play the game just stays at the MB2 splash page without proceeding, the log also seems to close itself before the game starts up. Any help would be appreciated with this.

If you're using the Steam version you cannot use the launcher unless you choose MBII Client in the options of the launcher. Untrue, launcher will work with Steam under normal circumstances. - Spaghetti

So it crashes when the MBII logo video starts up? Try updating your DirectX drivers. More often than not that is the cause.

Yes, I know all of these suggestions are things you would normally hear from a Microsoft support specialist (haha, funny joke), but they usually work, as sad as it sounds.

Well ok i should give more backstory here, the mod worked fine for the first few days (steam/Jamp) with no issues whatsoever. Then i saw a guide online that gave step by steps to the installation that mentioned that some animations may be glitched up if i don't repair the install after download. So i did that and that seems to have caused this problem. I am probably a giant idiot for attempting to fix something that wasn't broken but i just wanted to be safe, so is there something in the repair process that could cause this to happen? I am not too knowledgeable on the subject.

EDIT: It now turns out that my copy of JA is now completely broken as well, as the repair seemed to have brought back some instability with ati video cards that now means that i can't even play the base game. And i did try the opengl fix but it didn't work.

Reinstall JKA, then MB2, and see if that fixes it. Also what version ATI drivers are you on, and what card?

I'm running an AMD HD 7800 card with up to date drivers. Also i doubt that reinstalling JA and MB2 will help seeing as it's been the same problem after about 3 reinstallations since the repair happened. I mean, at least i know the problem but i'm not sure how to fix it.

So no error messages, nothing? The game starts, then randomly shuts down without giving any sort of prompt? And you are reaching the logo screen?

There are no error messages, apart from 1 that appears on the console for a brief second before it closes itself, and then the game just stays frozen on the splash screen before the company logos appear.

This is more an issue with the game itself than the mod at this point, as the error is talking about a dll file that is missing, but even after i add it the game still doesn't work. If i can get the game working again then i should be able to get the mod working. Anyway i'm going to bed for tonight and will try to continue working on this tomorrow.

Why don't you just change the launch options in Jedi Academy to +set fs_game "MBII" and launch through steam?

What error is it, do you think you can screenshot it before it closes?

Well this is interesting, steam gave me a popup about disabling compatibility mode and so i did and now the base game runs, i'll test the game with updated resolution and the mod and then give an update

For steam use JAMP and Steam integration in launcher's settings - I do, and it works for me.
