[SOLVED] Launcher "Update" Issue

I have 2 friends that recently were interested in downloading Movie battles 2 so we could mess around on it. I'm the only one though that hasn't had issues. When they first installed it, the launcher would go to a loading icon that below aid "Update Available" or something like that and then it would freeze and crash. Any tips that might work for them?

Edit: They have tried reinstalling the launcher and checked their firewalls. Updated one part that wasn't specific. I'm still waiting for feedback from them.
