Framerate issues?

So, I'll start out by saying that 100% of the time I would play this game with how my current settings are, I would get a solid 90 fps on all maps. (Except for maybe a couple of the more 'flamboyant' ones.) But when I got on to play today, my game was having issues pushing past 30 frames and I am baffled as to why. Hell, I even lowered my resolution to 800x600 and it's still 45 unless I'm looking at anyone running around.

So is this an issue with the core game? I don't have any 3rd party mods for MB2, just the base MB2 mod itself and base JKA installed. Could it be something in running in the background of my PC? Some help would be nice because I'm at a complete loss.

The only thing that should be running in the background that relates to MB2 in any way is the launcher, and this would be the first time I've heard of that it has impacted performance in any way.

The last time I had a problem like this something was overheating and causing my system to throttle.

something similiar happened to me once, and i checked after quitting
it was power settings set to energy saving instead of full performance

My computer is cool and my power settings have not been changed since the last time I played. I even went into my nvidia control panel and turned off extra AA and such and still no help.

And you've restarted since this started happening? Have you installed anything recently that may be interfering or causing these frame drops?

Strange. Do you ever go above 30 fps?

Okay, so your FPS randomly drops? Is it for a solid few seconds or is it a stutter?

No no no, NORMALLY, I'd have 90+ fps. When I started playing TODAY, it was inexplicably 30 and less. After some fiddling around, the best I could get was a fluctuating 45-55 fps, my issue is that I'm not getting my original framerate. I've tinkered with changing the max FPS setting and Vsync setting in options, nothing has helped.

Did you happen to turn Dynamic Glow on? Go into console and type /r_dynamicglow 0 and see if that fixes your problem.

Can you go into your launcher settings and tell us which engine you're using?

Does it happen on every server? It may be a network issue. Other than that are you running on 1 core, any recent driver updates, etc?

I have the lagometer on all the time, and that thing is always steady since I play on US servers, so I severely doubt the network is the issue. As for driver updates, the last one was Jan. 27th.

And as for the Engine I'm using, it's JAMP. Though I could swear the game tells me it runs on the JASP engine in task manager.

EDIT: I loaded in using the MB2 Client engine and everything's fixed (other than having to reset my binds/settings).

EDIT 2: I was putting my settings back to normal in the MB2 client version of the game and realized that the command /seta cg_thirdpersoncameradamp 1 ended up destroying my framerate. I set it back to 0 to get my frames back.

EDIT 3: That previous command is not the reason why the JAMP version has lowered framerate. I'd prefer to use the JAMP version because the UI is cleaner on that one. I can't seem to get the MB2Client one to utilize the widescreen UI so it's stretched and too large for my taste.

Yeah, unfortunately OpenJK doesn't fully support widescreen resolutions as of yet.

EVGA Nvidia GTX 960.

Reinstalling didn't help at all. I still get framerates lower than what I would normally get a couple days ago(on the JAMP version).

Check your NVIDIA control panel 3D settings. Set them to default, but remember any settings that appear as bold, in either global or jamp.exe specific.
