Hey all,
While learning how to convert maps to progressive siege, I decided to turn regular mb2_boc into a two-stage map. I had already experimented with the idea of a reverse boc on my server (Barnyard FAs) - starting at the observation deck like in the movie and escorting Palpatine (a real player, not an NPC) to the bridge. It worked well so I wanted to see if I could have it both ways. So, here is a working ps boc, with stage 1 as normal MB2 boc (only change being that elevators are now manually hacked using the tram elevator switch) and stage 2 is a sort of reverse boc, where Anakin and Obi-Wan spawn on the top floor with Palpatine and must get to the bridge and hack the consoles, which triggers the stage 2 objective. The bridge consoles can only, at the moment, be hacked by Anakin, Obi-Wan or Palpatine.
At the moment, you can only advance to stage 2 after "freeing" Palpatine. I didn't quite manage to link generic stage ends (eg losing all team members) to stage changes, so you can't advance from defeating the CIS. It is a bit bugged though, as sometimes in stage 2 it reverses to stage 1 if you're defeated.
Use /devmap mb2_ps_boc to try it. I added the Barnyard custom FA as well to this file.
It's a bit rough at the moment. Think of it as a proof of concept. It is currently playable on Barnyard FAs under regular mb2_boc (no downloads necessary, though I recommend getting the Barnyard custom classes file, or else Palpatine won't be playable) to enable the largest number of people to test it.
Hopefully I'll manage to update my porting guide thread soon with the insights I gained from this.
NOTE: the first round after the map is loaded is usually broken. Use /newround (or /smod newround) to fix this quickly.
NOTE 2: Palpatine is set to spawn over a death pit in stage 1. The same for Darth Sidious in stage 2. This is a workaround due to MB2 not currently supporting different classes per map stage.
