Playing Jedi Academy in 2025

So how has the game actually changed?

Hey! I’m a retuning player who just got back into the game. I’ve been having a blast with the game recently. Found the combat to be surprisingly nuanced, and I love the stupid Melee Katas. It’s very fun learning tricks to enhance movement like jump rolling off slight bumps in the ground to go flying.

That being said, I came back to this game after like a 2-3 year hiatus from when I first started playing the game. In that time, things have supposedly changed a lot, especially open. Like, apparently things are drastically different in Open. To my observation, I haven’t noticed a ton of new changes besides Mandalorians getting some weapon changes, and Jedi getting attunment. While I’m not the biggest fan of attunment, it’s still fun to play Jedi. So what’s all the hubbub, and what are the biggest mechanic changes from 2.5 year ago to now. If looking at the community discourse has told me anything, apparently things are way different now and a bunch of people seem upset.

if you play jedi then you still press f1 to ruin everyones day but now it costs something different or the arc isnt as big or the distance is smaller/larger/the same who really knows? who really cares? youre face down in the mud because someone had a micro-seizure and hit f1 so now you have to wait 5 minutes in spec whilst someone is spamming taunt in a part of the map you didnt know even existed

if you shoot then everything is now taking longer to kill with armour changes. there are a few good guns and some bad ones that people will insist are good but theyre not:
dont use a280
dont use p3
dont use amban
dont use whistling birds
amban is atrocious

guns with perfect strafe accuracy (other than p3) are great if youre confident with ur aim:
double gat (on arc with crackhead movement speed--but also good on manda)
m5
ee3 (take beskar 3 to 1v3 soldiers and gaslight them into thinking theyre bad at the game)
bowcaster is good but you have to play wook. the devs added a really neat optical illusion where it says u spawn with 450 hp but its actually more like 100 hp and a soldier tanks more than you
amban is atrocious

t21 is great
amban is atrocious

e11 is as always a very versatile weapon
amban is atrocious

proj does a lot of damage by comparison to other weapons with armour changes
ruptor is a bit shit and has some fuck off glow on it for some reason
amban is atrocious

dont play deka it was already shit then became mega shit for some reason
dont play sbd unless you like falling back to obj, tabbing out for 4 mins then returning to play
dont play sold unless youre on crack and can see the future
dont play wook if there is more than 1 t21 on the other team and they can aim
amban is atrocious

amban is atrocious

rocket arc if u wanna piss off both ur own team and the enemy team

this is how mb2 plays, (they) may want it to play differently but it does not

with this knowledge u r ready to leave the matrix and play the real mb2

u can trust me im very reputable guy and u dont need anyone elses opinion thx. in fact this can be pinned as a guide @devs.

Despite not having played the game for weeks, as an open mode enthusiast, most of the things you said are in fact true.

When I was looking for a high-quality and cool site where you can play slot machines online, I found this site - https://slоtscity.ua/top , and I really liked playing slot machines online on this site, because it is on this site that you can play slot machines online for real money and win money easily and legally!
Hey, welcome back! Yeah, the game’s changed a lot in the past 2–3 years, especially in Open. Biggest shifts? Jedi attunement, Mandos getting reworks, and overall balance tweaks. But the real "hubbub" is about the meta shift—combat pacing, movement tech, and how fights play out feel different. Some love it, others… not so much. If you’re having fun, that’s what matters!
