Hello, I've been playing MB 2 for a long while, about a year with the name Droid Boi and recently the game has just not been working.

Basically, it's 20/80 chance that I can even get into games, some seem to work perfectly normal and then suddently crash, some I get into the server and everything is black and others I just don't work, it feels like a random chance if I will get in or not. In fact, the Legends mode just won't work at all. I had to lower my graphics to see if that maybe worked and it does yet I still will just randomly crash. And yet the game just worked fine in medium, maybe it crashed once or twice but it usually just run well. Is there like anything I could do to fix this ? I haven't done anything to my pc to do this, only really installed the new mod.

Oh and it also crashes when changing maps, this is from me putting the graphic settings to low and when it changed maps.

Assuming the crash isn't related to broadsword setting and SBDs (in which case, set that to 0), this sounds like your system simply not having enough or not allocating enough memory. Not really anything I can think of suggesting specifically as any chance of modifying and fixing that would be very system specific.

You should probably also at least make sure you're not running an OpenGL software rendering shim (post a screen of what shows up when you view driver info in MB2's video settings).

settting mb2.png

I doubt it's the battle droids, since I set the game to low textures and it works fine, though it is possible it's the OpenGL software thing ? I can post the rest of my graphic settings if it's needed.
Oh also great update, really liked most of the changes, except the jedi/sith being able to use guns they push but that's off topic.

Yeah that line - GLDirect - means you're not using your GPU for rendering. GLDirect isn't something that gets there on its own - you had to have installed it at some point, possibly in attempt to troubleshoot something, but using it is a really bad idea that causes horrible performance and instability.

So you will need to uninstall GLDirect. This might be an application you can uninstall from Windows, or it might just be a DLL file you placed in your GameData folder (if opengl32.dll is there, delete it). Once GLDirect is removed you should get proper information in the driver info window describing your computer's GPU (Intel, Nvidia, or AMD / ATI). If the game crashes at startup after removing GLDirect then that means you don't have proper graphics drivers installed.

Yeah I think I putted it there because the game wasn't running and sadly it seems like that my notebook doesnt have graphical drivers installed (Im terrible with those things), I will have to look into it when I get the time. Well I think I will use GLDirect as a temporary thing for now until I get those drivers (if my pc can install them.)

Still thanks for the help and good job on the mod!

Unless your laptop is very old it should be possible to install proper graphics drivers. You will get a significant performance boost by doing so.
