You mean Xonotic? Yeah, I've played it a lot but it lacks of active players. Vehicle CTF was very interesting though. It's sad that games based on id tech 2-3 are dying, often because of lack of development (and because of dumb community too!). That can happen with MBII like it happened with...

    15 Years of Movie Battles

I have very deep knowledge in programming stuff, for example: mods for quake 3, open arena, tremulous, etc... All that's happening here with shadows or HUD as you said before is 100% bad coding. But your point of view is like "we knew about that a long ago but we don't give a fuck, let's just...

    15 Years of Movie Battles

Simple shadows worked fine on 2004 year (16 years old) PC. I didn't get any issues when I played JA. What you are saying here is nonsense. ...and I also played the game I mentioned above on my ancient PC and it worked ok too.

Duuude, Id tech 3 is a very cool engine. It's not perfect as ue4 and it lacks of many modern features but believe me a lot of modern game engines have worse physics and performance even than id tech 3. (ex. Renegade X) Some issues you mentioned here have been already resolved in other games...

The Next Big Step for MBII

Because this is pointless. How can be MBII based on older version of openjk and not be GPL'd?

I mean, not through walls. I've already said that this is a bug. But seeing people's shadows when they are hiding is 100% fair.

The Next Big Step for MBII

I don't think they just renamed function HelloThere() to GeneralKenobi() and changed the api number and that's why it doesn't work anymore. There maybe some major changes/bugfixes.

    15 Years of Movie Battles

Then this is a shitcode bad coding. (maybe upgrading the engine would have fixed this) If it would have been done well, it wouldn't be a such issue. ...that would prevent people from camping behind a corner. No?

    15 Years of Movie Battles

I can't imagine how player can get advantage by having shadows enabled. This sounds absolutely ridiculous.

The Next Big Step for MBII

If you build openjk client directly from github, it won't work because game API has changed and MBII api is VERY old.
