MBII Development: Looking to the future

^ correct, that is what i was saying, but, at the same time, i don't stand behind it as a "good idea" by any stretch. I think it's an unspoken (or maybe: spoken) rule about MB2 classes that they can't be TOO directly "support-focused," they have to have some raw damage capability as well, and I...

MBII Development: Looking to the future

As a vehicle? Or as an actual playable class? (for reference, I'm not suggesting it with any seriousness, although, I do like just throwing ideas out, either way. Even a bad idea with some interesting aspects at least runs a good chance of inspiring an actually good idea in some listener.)...

Mentioning wampa made me think: what if Rebs got a class that was as non-humanoid as Deka is, like, a tauntaun. Carry your teammates into battle. Take the barging/tackling thing off the wooks and put it on tauntauns. Sprint around real fast.

MBII Development: Looking to the future

(First off, I have absolutely no clue what classes they have in mind, if they even have it pinned down at this point, and furthermore, it'll surely be a long-ass time before we ever get to play these classes, AND FURTHERMORE, if good 3D Modelers and UI designers don't show up soon, this stuff...

@S o l d i e r Sure, Dekas can fall from crazy heights and survive, and I do agree that that's a little strange, my main point is just that it almost never really comes into play. There just aren't that many crazy heights to worry about. But, overall, I guess I do agree that Dekas should have...

MBII Development: Looking to the future

Hi, welcome to the forums. I don't mean to bash you but I have a couple things to say, disagreeing with almost everything you said. First off, Deka not taking fall damage isn't really a big deal in any real strategic context since Deka ignores knockback anyway, and it's almost reasonable given...

.....again, here's an official running animation (<-- CLICK THIS. IT'S A LINK.) from the work on Episode II. sure, i don't think it was ever used, and i don't have an example from any finished media of a running SBD, but, that's how it would've looked. and again, one way to add that kind of...

MBII Development: Looking to the future

for anyone wondering, here's some (video footage of) official walk AND run animations for the movie SBDs. it would be kind of interesting is there was kind of acceleration/deceleration to the running, or a kind of switch in and out of "running mode," so you'd see an SBD barging down a hall but...

the "Our team is looking for new blood... could it be you?" thing in Community Discussion also has a broken link. edit: @Goliath-A.I. ha ha you'll have to make like a human and "adapt." don't worry, it's not like they'll make SBDs garbage. You can still be a terror.

    Force Stun

you pulled Stun from KOTOR, didn't you? It does sound like it would get the same hop>slash combo usage as lightning. I don't quite see how it would be "defensive." Off-the-wall, also-KOTOR-based idea: what if the Light side "Lightning" parallel instead paralleled the "wide-area debuff" by being...

    View Others' Class Configs

@----Kas---- I.... didn't say anything about "how seemingly stupid combination of points can work wonderfully." I'm well aware of it. I like it. I like that there's such a crazy wide range of viable builds and strategies. I just think it's off-putting that you can die from a threat/strategy that...

why is it so important for build/class selection to be a secret? Literally all that does, as far as I can tell, is encourage changing your build/class each round to keep people off your strategy. And it creates a dynamic over multiple rounds where people adjust to each other's builds, but why...

Wookiee Fury is unfair in mixed-skill servers.

You made me wonder if it's officially "Rage" or "Fury", and the 1.4 patch notes reference both. It looks like Rage is the ability and it uses Fury Points? Also, it took me a while to realize what you meant, but, you don't like that Rage is activated at-will with the push of a button, right...

Wookiee Fury is unfair in mixed-skill servers.

A Wookiee can fill most of its Fury bar by killing the world's most inexperienced soldier via ambush. The same Wookiee can then use that Fury bar to unavoidably massacre several honestly good players, if they aren't playing Mando or Sith and can't get away. The optimal counterplay then...

    View Others' Class Configs

This is an idea for an optional server setting. In Open mode, what if, when viewing the scoreboard, we could use our mouse and click on any player's name to see a pop-up displaying how they configured their class? Right now, we aren't actually allowed to even see what class the enemy is using...

That all sounds so great that I'm almost sorry i even suggested that i felt dubious about the map changes. But asking pessimistic questions led to very informative answers and I like reading all this information.
