Technical Issue Does this game allow 360 controllers?

@Keifer based on my own messing around with it, I think it just doesn't support the right joystick initially. Because it's an old game that doesn't understand the idea of dual thumbsticks. If there's "look left/right" and "look up/down" stuff in Controls though (I don't remember), then you could...

Technical Issue Does this game allow 360 controllers?

I'm pretty sure I met a guy in-game who said that he played (almost exclusively saberist) with his left hand using a controller (joystick instead of WASD) and his right hand using a mouse for aiming. Or maybe it was the other way around, WASD for movement, joystick for aiming? I think it was the...

    New to the Community

A newbie playing Mandalorian is just going to get glowsticked or sniped or something. ET/Commander is still better for just starting out, just cuz you get two lives. Although you're individually not that strong so if you try to lone wolf you're gonna get eaten. Although, Mandalorian is an...

    1.4.5 Open Beta General Feedback

How come the Beta is using old gun stuff like CC2 Soldier and uncapped FP drains (proj shotgun)? Anyway, there's a huge gunbug where a large percentage of shots made in IDR "stick" to a block on-hit and hit over and over each frame until the saberist's FP is completely gone and they get hit.

Technical Issue Please start the game via launcher and keep it running!

Is "Install Jedi Academy in the default Steam location rather than another drive" one of the valid suggestions for this? I remember that's something to do, for some reason. Personally I've had this bug. I might have had it every time I've reinstalled, and I don't remember doing anything to fix...

mb2 frag video - sample text

@Gumba see i can't tell if you're deliberately misinterpreting my point and making fun of me for it, or if you're agreeing with my exaggeratedly-phrased point (that EU has more skill on-average and has a larger concentration of extremely skilled players) in your own exaggerated way. I can't...

mb2 frag video - sample text

i know this is a highlight reel so i shouldn't take it as representative of anything, at all, ever, but... but STILL... this video really makes me wonder about EU players and if they're all basically way ahead of NA players. And reminds me that there are levels of skill that i forget even exist...

    Wookiee Force Resistance

meh, I'd personally like for it to have some kind of hard counter, because I'm salty about the entire concept of it, and the fact that, by getting one cheap kill on a total newbie, you can Rage through a bunch of good players.

    Thoughts regarding movement

dodging sprays of shots and perfectly predicting where the enemy will go are both things that are beyond human capability to perform perfectly, and i llllllike that element. personally. i won't get super in depth about that this time. i just like it, okay!? yes.

    Wookiee Force Resistance

it does a bit if they're "less stable" while raged though.

    Wookiee Force Resistance

What if they had the existing full immunity while NOT raging, and had the staggers while raging? :< (i'm imagining a Sith expending all their FP spamming Push on a raged wookiee, saving his gunners from being steamrolled, but also making himself a huge target to the Wookiee's gunners)

    Unlagged netcode in MB2 [netcode]

There's a "hitscan proj" in the mb2_commtower FA that feels like it might work this way, but I might've just always played with low ping. Like, I've used ruptor and there's always some sense of delay to it (although I can't tell how much of that is lag in the sound and visual effects). The...

    Thoughts regarding movement

Not so in Tribes, but Tribes combines speed with momentum so you can make very likely predictions instead of it all being guesses. (I kind of warped the meaning of "free movement" there, though. Probably.) which is not strictly better or worse or anything, just an observation. I've wondered...

    Thoughts regarding movement

While the actual situation would require more testing rather than speculation, in theory, you could remove Flinch if strafing speeds were so low that it was much easier to fully drain FP just by blasting. In theory, that would make saberists capable of facerolling gunners if they ambush them at...

    Thoughts regarding movement

Achilles is the first person I saw directly complain about high strafing speeds. And while it may (or may not) be a new and kind of radical idea, some people do find it interesting, the idea of trying to take gunfights away from being wigglefests.

    Thoughts regarding movement

I'd be interested in doing all of these at the same time and seeing what happens: - reduce strafing speed a little for everyone - increase spray cone (decrease accuracy) across most/every gun - as @Szunti said immediately above, have a gradual transition from running accuracy to walking accuracy...

    I need a Medic!

Huh, not sure what you particularly meant by that. Definitely a "sorry" voice line has a lot of comedic/ironic potential, but it's also not a new or unfamiliar idea in video games that have team damage. The old Tribes games had VVS "Sorry!," with appropriately macho but appropriately remorseful...

    I need a Medic!

On the topic of the "I Need A Medic!" voice line, though: since Medics at this point have basically been rejected as an idea, what if the voice slot for "I Need A Medic!" was replaced with a "Sorry!!" voice line. People already use I Need A Medic as kind of a half-assed apology for TKs...
