This MOD no longer works and requires an overhaul to work with the latest version of MB2 1.9.3 because of changes made to the MB2's UI files, additionally the creator has been inactive since 2021. If anyone is able to please feel free to provide an updated version.

I may be mistaken but I believe the only way would be to pay to rent a server (Here) and password protect it or just find a quiet public server and play on that with your friends.

Currently it breaks a few shaders for newer models that were added in 1.9.3.

Being banned wouldn't cause this problem, even if banned you'd still see the server. Are you using the new launcher and the latest version of MB2? Also make sure you have these set so you'll see the servers that are currently populated.
