Launcher help a newbie with a critical error

As Fluffy said, there is no torrent for the complete download. The update download will not help at all and cannot be combined with anything. You need the complete download to play.

Launcher help a newbie with a critical error

Please don't make multiple threads for the same installation issue. You are not upgrading an existing installation. This will not work. Download the complete ZIP file and extract that to GameData, or install with the launcher. Those are your only options.

Make sure the GameData path is correct in the launcher settings: This is an example path, it may vary on your system, make sure it is correct.

Launcher help a newbie with a critical error

As I have said, if you have issues with the available download links, it is due to your Internet connection. You should take up issues with that with your service provider. We may create a torrent for the 1.6 release after any hotfixes that may need to be done for that, but there are no...

Launcher help a newbie with a critical error

There is a download via ModDB as well. If you have little bandwidth for downloading then I would advise waiting until after version 1.6 is released to try (should be soon) as you will need to redownload everything then anyway.

This means your Internet connection with the nearest CloudFlare servers is of very poor quality - as evidenced by your download speed and accidental double post. You should download the mod manually, extract the files to GameData (overwrite if prompted), then start the launcher again. It will...

    Force icon replacement

Since a few people asked about it before, here is a re-upload of the force icon replacement pack I've used for years. I do not recall who made them so if anyone knows I'll happily add credit.

    Technical Issue Fps cap

Keep in mind that going much beyond 125 can result in connection issues with servers - I tend to get it around 200 but YMMV. Max FPS is an option in video settings too...

    help

If you're getting animation bugs then you're not loading the mod correctly. You must not start the base game and use the mod menu. You should start the game via the launcher or add +set fs_game "MBII" to the launch arguments of whatever is starting it. On Windows you will need to leave the...

[SOLVED] How do I update Jedi Academy to 1.01 on Origin?

@Flavuseme You have two options: Run the MBII launcher and change engine to MBII / openjk in settings. Open the launcher and leave it running in the background, and use Origin to start the game after setting the following:

[SOLVED] How do I update Jedi Academy to 1.01 on Origin?

Well I happened to have a free month of Origin access thanks to their recent promotion, so installed their version of JKA to find out what was going on. The game appears to be the correct version (assets3 is in base too): However Origin's launcher does not seem to provide any way of starting...

[SOLVED] How do I update Jedi Academy to 1.01 on Origin?

Ugh, that's stupid. There's not going to be any patcher for those versions with DRM wrappers. Your only option to get Movie Battles working is to use OpenJK. Go to launcher settings and switch engine to MBII.

Launcher Having trouble getting MBII Launcher to install on Ubuntu

Most Linux file managers let you right click in a directory and do something like "open terminal here...". Or use the command cd with an argument for the path of the directory you want to change to. Are you new to Linux?

Launcher Having trouble getting MBII Launcher to install on Ubuntu

It's stating the file isn't there. That means you haven't installed openjk of the right version (guessing you got the 64 bit build or something). EDIT: You need to run the shell command from GameData. You're running it from your home folder. Of course it won't work.

Launcher Having trouble getting MBII Launcher to install on Ubuntu

I wouldn't just assume someone isn't going to try self-hosting a game. @BlazeItMikal Install an x86 build of OpenJK and use Play_MBII.sh in GameData (preferably from command line so you can see any errors). Install any missing dependencies if it complains about missing libraries. That's it...

    Macros and Binds

Well yeah, if you assume your premise that hardware "increases your results in game", but it doesn't. Poor hardware is a disadvantage. Once you reach the point of running the game as intended (something most PCs from the past 7 years can do easily), the impact of better hardware is insignificant...

    Classic Lunarbase

Beg to differ. I played a few scrims there recently. Played exactly the same as the old lunar. The only dramatic change is the main hangar area but I think all the changes there were for the better. And it still has similar gameplay flow. A classic version could get released if there were...

    Macros and Binds

Having better quality hardware is fundamentally different to using external software to automate some aspect of gameplay. If this isn't clear to you then please stop for a moment and think about the distinction. At best, better hardware or good Internet connectivity would allow a player to play...

    Classic Lunarbase

Doubtful. The only thing the old lunar has going for it is slightly better FPS. The competitive areas (main chokepoint / side / obj) are almost identical gameplay wise.
